Albus was surprised to have a Slytherin like Nott come to ask for help. It was even more surprising that he was asking for help with Tom. He had made that offer to Draco, it seemed and he had refused, not believing that he could help. Now, Nott and Narcissa were both looking at him for help. He liked it.
He picked up the parchment, although he really didn't have to. He knew that his encounter with Tom would have clued him in, but he was surprised that he was going to Nott for information.
His fingers traced the symbol, almost with affection, not for the mysteries it held, but for a time when things were much too simple. "Yes, Gellert and I found it when we were very young. He then adopted it as his own." He looked up at Nott. "What will you do with the information I give you?" Not that he had any intention of telling him the truth. He had written down enough lies about the Deathly Hallows that even if Nott found those books he hadn't recovered, he'd find more lies to confirm his words.
