Summary: Remus stops in to pick up some journals and have an important chat
Remus was slowly getting acclimated to the new world he found himself in after almost a week. It was going to take a lot more time before little things, changes no one who lived in this time even noticed any longer, would stop throwing him for a loop. But, having settled his differences with Sirius, Remus felt more balanced. His brief conversation with Harry's daughter had also done an amazing amount of good for his outlook.
All of which he needed for his next step -- seeing Ted again, this time on their own.
During the time since their first meeting, Remus had been given time to adjust to the idea that he had a son who was almost as old as he was. Or, rather, to begin to adjust. As with everything else, he was sure it would be sometime before they found their stride. But at least the mere thought didn't give him a near panic attack any longer. (That was reserved for thoughts about the fact Ted had a mother who remembered, quite possibly, a passionate love affair, but whom Remus didn't even know!)
As he fussed over his hair, which was so desperately in need of trimming Remus was thinking it was becoming an even better idea to take Harry up on his offer of a loan for wand, Remus thought back to that first meeting. Something in the back of his mind, somewhere amoung the instinctual reactions of both man and wolf, had recognised Ted as 'cub' almost immediately -- alarming in and of itself.
But, while they had seemed to hit it off well enough for two grown men unsure what to make of each other, Remus had been surprised by the strong protective urges that rose whenever he remembered the incredible offer Ted had made to spend the night of the Full with him.
Shaking his head as he made his way to the floo, Remus had to smile. His son was an animagus, a wolf nonetheless. It was fitting in so many ways Remus could not begin to count them.
Remus took a deep breath to calm the nerves that had seemed to begin fluttering in his gut as soon as he realized it was getting near time for Ted to be home from work. A pinch of powder thrown into the fire and Remus stepped through the green flames to spin his way to his destination. Brushing ash from his clothes, he had the brief thought that at least he wasn't beat up, bruised, and dirty this time, despite still being in the same clothes in which he'd arrived.
"Hello?" he called tentatively out into the room as he looked up. "Ted?"
