Lan listened, nodding a time or two as Faustus gave him the instructions. It wasn't quite his 'let's go outside and talk to people' plan, but it was a plan all the same. Likely an important one.
He had to smile a little as Faus cautioned him against being a hero. "I was a 'claw, not a Gryffindor," he pointed out with a faint smile. He glanced to where Faustus said he'd be, and Lan nodded again, relaxing slightly. He had no desire to go poke around where it was all wet and burny, so he'd be just fine searching around where it was dry and not-burned.
Turning away, he kept his wand out, gripping it lightly as he moved through the rest of the shop. It was smokey, and warm, but aside from some flung debris and upended tables and chairs, there didn't seem to be much else wrong with the place. Moving to the door, he peered out. He saw there were some aurors keeping people back, away from the shop. Why the hell would anyone want to come up to this, he couldn't even imagine ... but people weren't always the brightest when it came to things like this.
He saw that the smoke had stopped rising from the other building, so presumably there was another team over there. Squinting against the morning sun, he looked around the village, at the people there. The witches, the wizards, the children, all gawking. Some looked scared, some confused. Some looked like they were ... not amused, exactly, but not exactly worried, either.
Shaking his head, he turned back inside to keep searching, keeping a keen ear out for anything that sounded like creaky wood about to shift and fall on their heads.
