Summary: A celebration of Patrick's birthday
After the invitations got sent out, Marcus had arranged a lot of what he wanted for Patrick's birthday himself which both annoyed and amused Rebecca at the same time. There was no guarantee that the 'surprise' part of the birthday arrangements would stay a surprise, but Marcus did his best to give Patrick as much fan fare as the younger wizard deserved amongst his mates and their guests.
He ensured that his private car brought Patrick from Chelsea with a bottle of one of Patrick's favourite liquors in the back. Marcus had insisted, telling Patrick ahead of time that he was going to give Patrick the best birthday possible complete with all the niceties.
Inside the club, Marcus had turned it into a miniature casino, with slots and tables for poker, roulette, craps and black jack. Of course, to keep the atmosphere playful, all the monies one could use were given at the door and no one had to use their own funds. It was all for the competition of who got the luckiest during the night. Along with the games, there was a side show arranged of fire dancers, some men and some women. There was also aerial ballet dancers using silk scarves - both male and female performers.
On the main table where most of the food was catered buffet style, an indulgent birthday cake was on display, and in two different corners of the club's dance floor, male pole dancers kept everyone entertained.
It was decadent, lacking of much moral value and infused with as much entertainment and fun for Patrick and his guests that Marcus could think of. Of course, he had his own private party for the younger wizard after the festivities.
When Patrick arrived at the club with the red carpet waiting for him, Marcus ensured that the club's music was pounding inside while everyone was waiting for the guest of honour to step through the black curtain. When Patrick approached, Marcus' security would inform the DJ who cut the music and the lights would go out. They all waited for Patrick to appear, and when he did, the lights went up and shouts of 'surprise' rose through the air - Marcus in the middle of the crowd at the front with a smug smile on his face.
