Who: Citizens and heroes of NYC, Horus.
NPCs: Sabina, Ragged New York Man and various citizens
Where: New York; unnamed dimension of hell
When: 5/18, 6:30PM
What: What happens when you trap a demi-god in a hell dimension? Well he tries to escape. Someone is causing cracks between our world and this hell dimension causing all sorts of bad guys to crossover, including those who have been long dead.
The sky over New York was a clear blue with a few clouds strewn across. Not the kind of weather one normally associated with the sound of thunder. A few citizens stopped to look up, murmuring things like “maybe it was a jet...”. Until it happened again. This time it was followed by a crack of colorful lightning and what looked like a wave over a section of the sky. There was a split second of silence while people tried to gather their thoughts before there was a loud crack heard, accompanied by astonished screams. “By Osiris’ cock, I swear I’ll tear it down!” Horus let out a battle cry as he pounded against the barrier. He didn’t know what damage he could cause to the other side, nor did he care. He was trapped here against his will. A land of death or torment, neither of which suited him. The wizard had banished him to this hell dimension for “meddling” in affairs he shouldn’t have been meddling in, but Horus wasn’t one to stay in the same place for too long. The only way he’d be sent here again was death itself, and he didn’t see that happening anytime soon, so he kept pounding, his body surging with magic, and just like that -- there was a crack. Meanwhile the denizens of hell that had long since forgotten to think or to feel began to notice. It would only be a matter of time before they caught wind of Horus’ plan. Especially one in particular. After the crash, green-tinted clouds rolled over the sky, threatening rain that never came. Instead, the thunder grew louder and the lightning strikes closer. People began to scurry home as the weather seemed to take a turn for the worst. All except one who stood in the middle of the crowd staring up at the sky and smiled: it was time. Her name was Sabina and the Council of Merlin had so many plans for her. Staggering into the alley was a man. Old, filthy, and unimportant. She could smell the sin and regret that permeated his existence. She followed him into the alley and pulled the dagger from her inside her coat. Sabina grabbed the man by his shoulder, turned him toward her, and plunged the dagger into his chest. She watched as he died, relishing as the light went out in his eyes and he became nothing more than a shell. From her bag, she pulled out a chalice and let blood fill it. Carefully, she brushed the blood onto the ground -- marking the runes needed for what came next. Then it was a matter of focus, a few well spoken words, and it was done. Her work was done. As she walked away, there was another loud crack and a bolt hit the ground in the marked spot, only this time it left something behind. There was a cracking of bones that hadn’t been stretched for a long time. A figure stood up, taking in new surroundings while a familiar, but long forgotten voice croaked, “It’s good to be back.” [OOC: FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK, THERE WILL BE AN INCREASE IN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY AND THE CRACK WILL WIDEN FURTHER AND BRANCH OUT. SABINA AND THE COUNCIL OF MERLIN ARE USING THEIR MAGIC TO TRY AND MASK THE DISTURBANCE. THAT'LL ONLY LAST SO LONG. SO, FEEL FREE, MAGICAL TYPES, TO START HAVING YOUR KIDS FEEL A DISTURBANCE IN THE FORCE AS THE WEEK PROGRESSES.] |
