Galen had called the guys into the clubhouse for a short meeting. Their first package would be arriving in exactly a week and they needed to be prepared for the transport, first to the garage, the half way point, and then on to the small cabin that Quinn had found and purchased almost four months ago -- where the pieces of the weapons coming in would be assembled before delivery. There wasn't much to be discussed because they all knew their role in the movement of the guns but he didn't want anything to go wrong -- he wanted to make sure that their first drop off went off perfectly to set the standard. He knew that the could count on his brothers, and with Seamus back from Ireland (back from arranging this new drop off point) would make things run smoother -- he'd been worried that Seamus might not have been back in time since he had to stop in through Boston first, their father wanting to speak to him about what he'd seen and heard while on the other side of the Atlantic.

The gavel beat against the sounding block and the guys dispersed, Galen being the last to leave the room after sharing a word with Seamus about their contact on the ship coming in. It wasn't anything important, it was more character questions than anything else.

But, everyone went their separate ways in the clubhouse. Galen passed by Chessa, at the billiard table, and loosely wrapped an arm around her waste, "bring me a beer, sweetheart?" He asked with a charming smile on his lips before continuing over to the couch where Raleigh sat with Aiden. His shoulder fell against the support beam of the enclave where the couches were set up adjacent to the pool table. "Still haven't found a nanny you like yet? I thought you were seeing one today?"

Quinn knew he could go for a beer right about now, but technically he was still working so it would have to wait till they closed the shop for the day. Still, he could eat. He was typically starving most of the time, and there had been a roost beef sandwich in the fridge waiting for him.

It was something Quinn had to get used to having so many people around him again. He'd been practically on his own for a couple of months up in the boonies. Not that he was lonely since he had been too busy to be lonely. Quinn was a strange contradiction. He was loyal and knew he could never leave his pack, but he was perfectly fine being on his own. The observation that Quinn was almost perpetually single was something that rarely went unnoticed.

He looked to Chessa as she sat down next to him. He grinned at her comment and fully agreed. "A good point to consider in the job description I think," he said teasing Raleigh mostly. It was important though whoever took care of their family. They may have been new up in Maine, but that didn't mean they couldn't get enemies. And the best way to get to them was through family.

Quinn looked over at the small blonde when he felt the nudge on his shoulder. "No need to flatter, Chessa," he told her shaking his head. "I've just been busy, that's the simple answer. No time to go out and meet the locals," Quinn shrugged. "Besides, you can't find anyone if you're not looking."

"You guys should just let my bitchster... I mean sister watch him full time. I mean, she was sent up here to be a babysitter anyway... may as well let her do what her job title says." Yea, it still peeved Chessa that her mother had the audacity to send Grace up here. She was an adult that could make her own decisions and mistakes as she pleased. The last thing she needed was her sister ratting her out to her mother about every little move she made.

Shaking the negative thoughts away, she kept her attention on Quinn. "I'm not trying to flatter. I'm just telling it like it is. All you Cleirigh boys are attractive. Hell, the whole damn pack is full of hotties. Anyway... I just don't believe it. I've never known a guy to be too busy to get himself laid."

Chessa smirked and raised her brow knowingly at Galen's brother. He was a guy. Guys had needs. "Well, then I guess the better question is.. Why aren't you looking? You're getting too old to stay single for much longer. People might start to talk," she said with a laugh and a smile to let him know she was jesting with him.

Quinn said nothing on Chessa's comment about Grace. He wasn't touching that issue at all. It was a completely different situation dealing with brothers. If they ever had a problem, they just fought it out till it was done. Girls just had to be so much more complicated in their personal crap.

He chuckled to himself and had to shake his head at the direction this discussion was going, with little ears not far off, but being around them Aiden had already heard worse. Quinn tried to distract himself from the conversation by eating some of his sandwich, but looked back at Chessa when she said he was getting old. "Maybe I'm getting too old to just go out and get laid," he said. It was hard for Quinn to really answer himself. It wasn't that he had no interest. It wasn't that he was incapable of going out to get a girl. It just... seemed like something that took a lot of work that he didn't have the time to put into it. They hadn't stayed in Boston. How long would they stay in Crescent Cove.

The relationship she had with her sister sucked. It was even more evident how much it sucked when she watched Galen and his brothers together. They gave each other shit, but they never held grudges for long. If she could, Chessa would move on, but it was hard. She watched her father get murdered and Grace hadn't even cared enough to come and see him buried. Family was supposed to stick together, but hers never had.

Sitting back waiting as Quinn worked on his sandwich, she looked over at Galen and winked at him. Chessa caught sight of Aiden and inwardly cringed. She really needed to work on watching what she said when he was within earshot. That was another reason she wasn't looking to have kids any time soon. If Galen wanted to have one with her in the near future, which she didn't think he did, she'd have to think long and hard about her answer. Shaking her head, she turned back in time to hear Quinn's reply.

"Touche. I'd say it must be lonely, but with a group like us around I don't think that could ever apply to anyone here. I could always set you up with one of my fellow nurses," she said with a wink and a laugh. Chessa didn't think he'd take her up on the offer, but she was serious. If he wanted, she'd hunt for him.

Galen had asked Raleigh about the nanny, in a serious tone, and it quickly spiraled into jokes and teasing and even some digs -- from Chessa at her sister. And, while his attention had mostly stayed on Raleigh for her answer, because he was concerned about them finding someone suitable that they could trust because he wanted to have her at the garage a bit more, he was still listening to what his brother and Chessa were talking about.

He had thanked Chessa for the beer when she brought it over, issuing a small smile and all before his blue eyes had flicked back over to Raleigh and Aiden. But, he glanced back over at Chessa when she took the obvious shot at her sister and his brows furrowed as if confused about what the hell was even going on. He wasn't going to get involved because he honestly didn't want to deal with that sort of drama, it wasn't his place and he just didn't want to have to mediate it, so he didn't comment on it but his expression, he was obviously put off by the possibility of drama.

Galen kept looking back to Raleigh and Aiden because that was the conversation that he was really trying to pay attention to but listening to Francesca and his brother in the background kept his eyes shifting between the two pairs. And, the obvious flirting from Chessa made his brows knit again, but so deeply that there were lines on his forehead. And, one of his hands, the one not holding the beer, was pulled from his pocket and held out as if to ask, "what the fuck is that?" Before shaking his head and turning his eyes back to Raleigh.

"Don't worry, I can't be lonely with all of you here to bother me now," Quinn said with a smirk to cover up he wasn't being completely truthful. Sometimes he thought about what it would be like if he had his own mate, his own kids, but it just wasn't that time yet. By saying he didn't have time was just another way to say he wasn't ready. He hadn't found the right. When Quinn made a choice, he wanted it to be the right one.

He was quietly trying to keep from laughing though when he saw the expression on his brother's face. Yes this was not a conversation he wanted to have with his brother's mate (at least not Chessa) and not in front of Galen, but Quinn was polite about it at least. "You can try if you want," Quinn said to appease her when she mentioned trying to set her up. "Raleigh's tried enough times," he said nodding to the Alpha female.

Raleigh sat on the couch with a big book in her lap, Aiden squashed up against her side as he read the book to her, sounding out the words. She looked up when Galen came close, unable to stop the smile that spread on her lips. "She called, said that her car needed an oil change before she could get here - I said we did that, and she just bailed." She made a disapproving tsch sound with her teeth.

"We've at least got to get somebody reliable enough that they show up, right?" She waited until Aiden had finished the page - thankfully, he was absorbed enough in the book that he didn't listen to Chessa, sounding out the words when he'd moved on to a new section. She bent her head as Chessa continued, speaking lowly to him as he tried to sound out new words, and Raleigh helped him until they finished the book, then she leaned over to him before she spoke lowly in his ear. "Go on baby, wash up before we...." She was going to say go find your dad, just as her eyes flicked to Seamus and Grace slipping out the back, and she frowned. "Get you a snack, okay?"

She watched him as he moved to go wash his hands, before she tipped her head back to look up at Galen, and she sighed. "Seriously, we've got to find somebody." She shook her head, and then she looked over at Quinn and Chessa, and she shook her head. "When it happens, it'll just happen. You can't force this kind of thing." Not when you were looking for something more than a cheap screw behind a garage.

"I met Galen through a freak set of circumstances. It's not like I was out trolling for guys. You know?" She crossed her legs, and sighed as she stuffed the book into the canvas bag filled with things suited for a five year old. "Is it bad that part of the reason I want a nanny is because I seriously miss just having a drink and a smoke?" She said it with a low laugh, and then she could hear Aiden running back, the gait of his feet on the pavement and the squeak of his shoes unique to the little boy.

"Hey, bud. Do you know what you want for a snack?" She grabbed him, and hauled him into her lap, pressing a kiss to his cheek, her brows rising at the reply. ".... No, try again, steak is not a snack." He thought for a moment before requesting peanut butter crackers - and Raleigh lifted her chin to nod to the table, even as Aiden got comfortable. "Can you grab a pack of crackers from the blue box under the table?" The request was mostly directed at Chessa, but honestly it could have been for any of them.

As far as Chessa was concerned, there would be no drama. If there was, it had nothing to do with the pack or the club. It was between her and Grace. Yes, she shouldn't have given into such a cheap shot, but she couldn't stand how hypocritcal her sister was being. She condemned her father for the life he lead and yet she had now engrossed herself in the same life as an adult. Grace might not be involved in the illegas side of things, but she was here and could get herself caught in the crosshairs.

Chessa caught Galen's look and didn't know what to say to it. In her mind, she wasn't doing anything wrong. She'd initially flirted her greeting, but from there she had been talkin to Quinn like one of the guys. Growing up, she'd always been closer with guys than girls and thus didn't feel like any subject was out of bounds. Giving Galen a genuinely innocent look of confusion, she eventually turned back to his brother. "I'm not gonna force it. If you want my help, you know how to find me."

At Raleigh's comment about relationships just happening when they were meant to happen, Chessa smiled. It reallly was true. She hadn't been looking for anything, not really, when she and Galen hooked up. "You're right, Raleigh... I met Galen much the same way..." Looking away, she hated bringing her relationship, whatever it was, with Galen up in front of the Alpha female. It was out of respect for the three of them that she didn't speak openly about it.

A small laugh filtered from her throat at Raleigh's confession. "You know, I'm happy to watch over him if you and Galen ever want to go out or you just want to relax and have girly alone time. As long as I'm not on at the hospital that is..." Hopping up at the request, Chessa grabbed the crackers out of the box off the table and brought them back to Aiden. Tousling his hair, she handed them to him and plopped back down into her spot on the couch.

Quinn was satisfied that the talk about his love life was over. He nodded to Chessa she said that he could come find her to ask if he wanted. It would come up again he was sure, but for the moment he was more than content to eat his lunch before going back to work. He was looking forward to tonight, when the shop could be closed, and Quinn could get a beer out of the fridge and actually relax for a few hours. It had been a long few months, and it was going to get even busier soon enough. It was hard to even think of anything but the family business right now.

During the conversation he had noticed the Shay and Grace had slipped out the back, which mostly drew the reaction of an arched eyebrow from Quinn. He said nothing about it though, but saw that Raleigh noticed too. "You'll find someone, Raleigh," he said about the nanny. "We're just new around here. It might take a bit, but if we make some contacts around here, then they can suggest someone to hire," Quinn suggested his idea to her. "In the meantime, we could switch up the baby sitting between us. I'm sure you'll have enough offers," he said. Not to mention the fact Shay was back now, and probably wanted to spend more time with Aiden anyway.

"Cause that doesn't seem shifty as fuck," he shook his head because it was bullshit that they couldn't get a decent nanny after so many weeks of searching for one. His beer tapped anxiously at his side after he'd taken a long pull from it. "I think we need someone more than just reliable but ... at this point, as long as we knew they won't hurt the kid," but, Galen seriously did want more than just that. And, while Aiden was a good kid and everyone loved him, he didn't need to be in a garage all day, he needed to start doing things that would get him ready for school next year.

He was kinda peeved about everyone jumping on Quinn about getting a girlfriend or a mate or something of the sort. Quinn was just fine as he was Galen thought. But, that was because Galen relied so much on his brother and he knew that if there was a serious girl involved things would change and he'd have to lean a little less on his brother. But, all of that was less concerning then Francesca and Raleigh talking about how they had each met him. Things were still new and he wasn't sure how things would sit with Raleigh to be talking about it in public like they were.

Galen was pulled away from the interaction between the girls because of Quinn's arched brow and he looked over his shoulder but was too late to see Seamus and Grace slipping out the back door. So, when he looked back at his brother the arm holding the beer lifted slightly as if to ask what? His eyes flicked back to Raleigh and he nodded, even smiled. "She's bitching about the nanny business but I think she's secretly happy about it because that means she gets to keep him to herself for hours."
