Ezra tried to contain the gasp that escaped his lips, but it made its way out anyway. He was only in shock for a moment before he moved to be closer to her. He placed a supportive hand on her back, and rubbed gently. Truth be told, he had no idea what to say. How awful it must have been to have parents and then lose them. He just never had them, or rather didn't know them. His ongoing emotional pain was nothing compared to the intensity of her current pain, and none of his pain could likely compare.
Ezra didn't mean to be rude, he just got nervous around new people, and Elliot was a new person. He listened to Elliot's situation too, and immediately felt bad for him, and perhaps Ezra's problems weren't so bad. "So both of you have family members who have been..." Ezra coughed, unsure what to say to them. His thoughts immediately went to his foster parents. What if they were next? Hie eyes widened with fear, as he started frantically grabbing his cell phone. The three of them were witches, and Ezra hadn't had a death in his family yet. Was it a serial killer?
