June was fairly chill plotwise in order to accomodate new players, finals, and all that jazz, but we still managed to have quite a few (finished!) logs, as well as the customary drama that Blurred is so infamous for.

A blurred June (huge thanks to Sabrina, Cate, Mango, Elisa, and Kaitlin for your contributions)
As we all remember, May ended explosively as Death Eaters made their presence known with the bombing of a quidditch stadium - mid match. As June begins, some are impressed, others are horrified, inquisitive, angered, philosophical or strangely logical, and the ministry is, yet again, up to its eyeballs in criticism. Only one person realises the true horror of the event: that Gilderoy Lockhart might have been hurt, since the silly peons are busy worrying about Meaghan and Riley - who were actually caught in the blast. In the aftermath of the attack, the DMGS decides that the best course of action would be to cancel the quidditch season - because if there is anything the people need right now, it's the removal of one of their only sources of entertainment! Oh well, maybe they can watch Dung instead (and gamble on how many fucks will go into his next post).
On the death eater front, the bombing serves as perfect distraction from the fact that Ted was tortured on the same day, an event that holds great importance for Fenrir, who is forced to move the Dark Army to lessen the detectibility of their movements, though he still finds time to idly terrorise Remus.
Meanwhile, Pepper decides to take a page out of the vigilates' book and polyjuice himself into Narcissa so he can beat the hell out of Georgina Wilkes, forcing the death eaters to come up with 'safe phrases' - a useful move, but predictable enough that Pepper is able to spook Georgie into believing the attacker is one of the death eaters. Pepper seems to be enjoying himself a great deal, in fact, for he also gets to interview Narcissa - something he hasn't been allowed to do since potions class in Hogwarts. Smith, lead hater at the Daily Prophet, also takes the time out of his day to be a general bastard. Bets on July being even more exciting!
Though the order is suffering from a general lack of guidance, Aberforth manages to rustle up a spy to check out this 'werewolf activity' (apparently someone was listening to Ted); and Benjy rustles up a rather inspiring post. Fabian gets some interesting news from Pepper, whom he apparently doesn't mind exposing to his fellow vigilantes. Sucks to be Pepper.
The week isn't even over when new news hits the stands: Minister Trimble wants to set up ministry 'safe zones' for families living in fear of the death eaters. Though the Wizengamot still has to decide on the matter, Gilderoy Lockhart is fully in favour of the idea, and his Witch Weekly article on the matter garners a great deal of public support. That support isn't enough to silence the presses on a very grave matter, however: Cygnus Black has been killed at Edgar Bones' hand during a resisted arrest. Reactions vary: the family isobviouslyoutraged, though Sirius is strangely philosophical. The DMLE is simultaneously confused and upset, and Rufus tells them all to shut up, basically. What a great boss! All this comes on the heels of a new Ministry Order: a new curfew is in effect to protect citizens from becoming victims after dark. Dung isn't thrilled (neither is Abe, for that matter) but most other people have other important things to worry about (like baby DE wangst). The ministry later does its best to answer concerns of the homeless and shadily employed.
Croaker, of course, is oblivious to all the hullaballoo in his happy basement, and finds that he may have stumbled on quite the interesting discovery, while several floors above him Elle Abercrombie has the brilliant idea to try and liaise with the media - and idea she later carries out. Speaking of brilliant ideas, remember that one Rodolphus passed on about imperiusing the Minister for Magic? Well it worked, and Evan, Severus, and Alecto are feeling quite happy about it. As for the result of that imperius? Safehouses. That's not the end of death eater happy times, for Marius and Walden get together, reminisce, have a few beers, kill a few muggles - you know, the usual.
Fate does not smile upon the Bones family, and though Edgar has valiantly defied public opinion to host a party for his son's birthday, valiance does not strengthen one's wards. In retaliation for his murder of Cygnus Black, Edgar Bones, his wife and children, and his parents are murdered at their own birthday party. Several aurors and civilians are also injured. Dung's sentiments are as eloquent as ever, and while the DMLE expresses its outrage and fears (mostly behind closed doors/wards), the rest of the order is devastated. Emmeline immediately calls an order meeting.[Daily Prophet] The DMLE and the rest of the ministry isn't taking it so well, either. Rufus pays a visit to Elle in the hospital, and later to Amelia, whom he tries to comfort, while Pepper visits Jo with the same goal in mind. Smith actually has the audacity to feel guilty (:O) and even Dumbles makes an appearance.
As if this month was not chipper enough already, Fenrir decides to hand out some journals to his cohorts in the Dark Army - and everyone gets a taste of werewolf Tabitha Pryce for the first time. Charming! He has other things to worry about, though, because he realises someone has been spying on the Dark Army.
Having learned his lesson from Edgar's unfortunate end, Pepper attempts to convince his mother to leave England... unsuccessfully, and so turns to asking nosy questions and rustling up the order. He even comes up with a really good idea ... that most people were too busy to notice.
In an hostile turn of events, Meaghan and Mary have a little spat ( an omen of things to come?), Moody yells at the Order (and Fabian), and Aberforth's snooping returns to bite him in the ass (thankfully not literally). Luckily, Gideon and Emmeline are around to make sad times a little cuter. Romance is also in the air for Gladys and Alastor (though we all know she's really thinking about Gilderoy), and for Alastor and Alastor. No wait, scratch that last one, only non-romantic bonding.
Remember that time Pepper tried to make the death eaters think they had a traitor? Well, unfortunately for those who like to keep secrets, the Dark Lord decides to hold a meeting and delve deeply into the intimate details of his followers minds. Some are more upsetthanothers.
Meanwhile, Narcissa receives presents from Pepper, who is publicly is merely concerned with difficulty procuring his lunch. Astra's throwing a party, Croaker may or may not be superstitious, Gilderoy's got mail (and apparently a sex addiction?), and Marius has Frenchies coming to stay.
Unbeknownst to Agnes, who thinks Severus could really use a good lay (who doesn't?), he has plans of his own - which involve keeping her in her room (which goes awry in very Agnesy ways) while Aberforth is having the crap beaten out of him downstairs. Agnes is too busy worrying about Aberforth to contemplate Severus's real motives - or guilt.
The subject is courtship, wives and more in Aquila's entry ... and this is what starts the Great Worry about Severus's intentions toward Astra - which Sirius capitalises on, of course, to Severus's dismay. On the 15th, however, it is all about fathers: Narcissa mourns via an inkblot and a squabble ensues between Graley and Jeremiah (who is a dick yet again... shock, horror). Sirius considers mortality pertaining to fathers -- especially his 'adopted' dad Mr. P and his failing health. Speaking of fathers... i t's a sad day for the wizarding world (except, you know, Death Eaters) at the Bones family funeral. Elle can't stop thinking about it
Marlene was thankful for a great birthday and celebrated with a life long to do list, while Sirius helps Remus realize that he might be repressed. As evidence (?) of Remus's lack of repression, Spoony Moony Tuesday might help explain the special relationship between the Marauders.
Dedalus is all too happy to try and help everyone look on the bright side -- even Moody. The idea that his leadership abilities might be a key to winning the war made Moody more than a bit nervous. At the same time, Sirius gets serious- - kinda. Even more disturbing than recent events is the food that Grady Bell's pregnant wife craves. At the same time, Jeremiah Smith insists that The. Wife. Is. Not. Pregnant. -- but we'll see soon, won't we?
The day doesn't end so well for the the Marauders & co., as Remus not only made plans to kick Marius's butt, he they had a confrontation and Remus even chomped a chunk out of him. Marlene and Remus had a touching moment in the aftermath and he becomes a ~man~ after his fears of being only a beast.
The 18th begins with news from James that Remus Lupin was taken in for questioning regarding the attack on Marius Lestrange and the various murders the night before, and Lily is distressed when she finds out upon arriving home. Marius was also taken in, and Regulus and Narcissa are alerted by his friend Genevieve. Marius and Remus Lupin are not the only suspects in this case. Narcissa is upset when Lucius is taken in and prepares her alibi. Rufus is quick to inform not only his Aurors, but the DMLE itself who exactly was brought in for questioning: Rodolphus Lestrange, Marius Lestrange, Lucius Malfoy, Gideon Prewett, Remus Lupin. Elladora Guffy is chosen to interrogate Gideon Prewett -- an acquaintance from school, Elle is assigned to question Lucius Malfoy, Bill Williamson takes care of Marius, and thankfully it is Moody who deals with Remus.
The 20th begins with Moody doing what he does best, which is of course trying to keep the Order, well, in order, and bailing out Remus. Well, not of course that Remus always needs to be bailed out. Well he does. That's not the point. In any case, even if Remus is out of jail, he's not safe from the clutches of one Marius Lestrange, who apart from commenting on his father's innocence, also threatens Remus, who is only sorry he missed Marius' throat.
Regulus is pleased to be done with his formal education, but displeased with Sirius' antics. Barty is confronted by his father, who thinks his son needs less coddling and should be kicked out. So he kicks him out. Luckily he has lots of people still around to fret over him.
Life at the ministry is going interestingly, with Jo ignoring familial worries over her safety to dig through Rodolphus's belongings and hatch up a dangerous as hell plan. Lucius Malfoy gives them hell while angsting about his failure to kill the ministry member he was supposed to. Pepper is doing his usual thing - sending out weird owls, and making people argue over whether he is teh evil or not. Rufus catches wind of Jo's bad behaviour and gives her hell - resulting in a two week suspension from duty and a permanent mark on her record. Ouch, boss!
As if the Order needed any more drama, Mary causes a major ruckus among the order when she admits to going jogging without her wand, garnering criticism from all sides of the war; everyone in the order is taken aback and/or pissed right the fuck off. Dumbledore makes the first smart move of the Order and keeps the students behind an extra week to ensure their safety. Peter begins his step down that slippery slope by having a drink with Severus, who is basically out to pump information from him. Ted, bless his heart, manages to be the only person without an ego to burn, and asks Frank for some extra help with training.
It's Tempting Trouser Thursday and Remus celebrates by posting the patrol schedule. Boring! Barty and Regulus have a far more interesting time at Quality Quidditch Supplies. Tempting Trousers apparently make Abe bemused, Emmeline analytical (and privately sad), and Amelia uncomfortable. Things seem slightly more amusing for the order until Mary sets goals, doesn't apologize, and gets taunted by Tabitha Pryce some more. Frank pulls people back on track with talk of counter signs and Patronuses.
Onto someone we haven't heard from in a while - Carlotta is still alive and kicking, and kick she will for the advancement of squibs, for whom she plans to throw a fundraising dinner.
Mary tries to end off the month with an apology that most people seem to have missed - though Pepper doesn't miss a beat. Speaking of not missing a beat, Rufus seems to have the first good idea the DMLE has acted on in a while: he puts Elle onto Evan Rosier, which requires her to look like she's in bad favour with the department. Difficult as it is, she struggles on, knowing that her suffering is for the greater good.
When Meg decides she wants to know who is on the DE list, she has an unpleasent realization about something in her past (loose lips sink ships... particularly when they are kissing a death eater!).
On the ministry front, Mill's attempts something useful, suggesting a joint task-force to investigate the existence of Fenrir's Dark Army. Rufus agrees, but Barty Crouch has far more important things to do - like put Mafalda Hopkirk in charge of new Ministry journal requirements, something she doubts will make her top of the popularity ladder. Though Millicent doesn't like it (no onedoes, really), she tells her department to comply, and Rufus follows suit .
How is 'stuff' - plot this month - too much/too little. Feel free to comment about whatever you liked, didn't like, loved, want to see more/less of, etc.
