She'd jumped at the opportunity as soon as she'd seen it -- what this Warrington fellow had done, she didn't know, but if Rodolphus Lestrange wanted him then it must be important. And if she helped to find him? Well, all the better. Besides, who was she to turn down the chance for a hunt like this? And so Tabitha had waited for Demetrius to come fetch her from camp, and with a brief visit to Warrington's flat to get his scent, they were off. They'd started by visiting several different bars, each one bringing no trace of Warrington's scent than the last, until, finally -- oh, that did smell like him. Now that she had a lead, their search had become much, much easier... until the trail lead them right into Diagon Alley. Too many people, so many smells -- Tabitha got turned around several times, confused when she came to a spot where Warrington's scent just seemed to vanish. He couldn't have just dissapeared, could he? Unless... oh, yes, apparation, wasn't it? That would explain it. How the fuck were they going to find him now? There was no more trail to follow. Nothing. After informing Demetrius what she had found, though, it seemed there was a way -- Tabitha didn't understand how it worked. Something to do with the DMLE, and tracing apparation -- but she didn't care. She just did as she was told, and once Demetrius was able to figure out where Warrington had apparated off to, she suddenly found herself looking at the hills of the moor. And there was his scent again, faint... but not too far. It didn't take her much longer to find Warrington -- and as she got closer, there was the strong scent of blood. And then she found him. Dead. Pity. And he hadn't been alone -- there had been two others here with him. Possibly the killers... but... she recognised that smell. Travers had been here? Had he done this? And the other smell, one she smelled frequently during the times she was around Gaius -- a girl. Tabitha didn't know who she was, but it must be someone close to Gaius if her scent was on him so often. Probably one of the purist bitches he was courting. She didn't care. There was something far more important to think about about now. Her lips were pressed together, trying to decide what she should do now; should she tell Demetrius that Gaius had been here? Should she lie and keep the information to herself in case she ever needed it later? Well. She'd just have to do whatever would benefit her the most. |
