Usually one to be extremely aware of the time, Regulus already knew what would be waiting for him when he got home. The bookshop was a ten minute walk away from their flat and he was just getting out of the bookshop door at 9:01PM. His boss had asked for help unpacking a rather large order that evening, meaning that instead of leaving at 7PM as usual, Regulus had stayed later. At the end of the day, that meant more money. Truth be told, Regulus was fed up of eating bloody sandwiches every day. It would be nice to splash out and eat something good for a change. Although he was hungry, his stomach giving an awkward twinge as he walked quickly down the street, food was the last thing on his mind.
Opening the main door and entering the apartment block, Regulus took a deep breath before beginning to climb the stairs. He and Sirius shared a flat on the thirteenth floor, the higher levels being cheaper. As usual, he paused for air on the ninth floor before continuing to troop on to their front door. Sliding his key into the lock, he shook the handle and forced the door open with his shoulder (for it stuck something terrible every single time). Instantly he came face to face with his brother.
"I'm sorry I'm late," he said instantly as a form of greeting. He actually meant it too. It was obvious by looking at Sirius that his brother had been concerned. Ten minutes didn't seem like a lot, but to time efficient people like Regulus, it meant a great deal. It meant even more these days, considering their circumstance.
