Kayden & Mikino, with an appearance from Azzy The Palace Early Afternoon Requesting an audience
The message from Keirohn had come most unexpectedly. Any message from the fae realm was unexpected and usually a disturbance in Alex's life. If it came from his immediate family, it was always with a lecture but he hadn't been away as long this time. He was getting better about that, popping in from time to time to check on the people he was closest with, showing some semblance of life. After this long, it was something that his family had just grown accustomed to. Of course, they'd tried several methods to settle him back into fae society and he had spent long hauls of time there in an attempt to appease them, but efforts on both sides were futile when one was afflicted with a certain type of wanderlust. While surprised that the message hadn't come from his immediate family, the fact that it had been Keirohn caused for concern from the get go. Alex, or Kayden as he had been known from birth in the fae realm, was close with Keirohn's sister. As close as they could be with the distance of The Veil between them. He kept up a regular correspondance with her, but hadn't shared the same tete-a-tete bond with her brother, which meant that if it was Keirohn contacting him instead, then something must have happened to Azyebel.
There was no pause for consideration. he read the note through once. He was being summoned. Keirohn had been a bit cryptic in his words. You couldn't be too careful in times of war, but enough was said for Alex to get the gist of it. His talents were needed. Azzy needed protection. Something had happened to her and Alex was mostly left to come up with his own conclusions. Perhaps that was best, as his mind started thinking of all the worst possible scenarios. What if she were dead, but he hadn't wanted to express that in written form? What if she were ill? How much time had passed since he had last been there? Had she gotten married yet? Perhaps something had happened in child birth. Though she had made no mention of such a thing in any of their letters. Worse than that would've been some connection to this war going on in their world, the main reason he hadn't been back to see her or anyone in awhile. The moment he found out about it, he had resituated himself in a new part of San Fransisco, with it already been decided that he was going to wait it out with the "mortals". Quite like he did in reverse whenever the humans decided that they wanted to kill each other.
Kayden's current farce as Alex Foster had him peddling his own blood on the black market to be used for... well whatever it was the buyers wanted it for. Vampires, witches, demons and such always had use for it and there was a big enough demand for it that he was able to play the games he enjoyed so much, in sometimes giving his blood, other times sending along animal blood instead to purposefully screw up spells and rituals. The rarity of what he had to offer kept him safe, for now. On the side, he stilled practiced his tarot and picked up running a website telling fortunes. His clients would have to deal with him not being around. His baby cousin took precidence over his fun and games.
On his return to the fae realm, Kayden returned to his family home only briefly before he headed to the palace. He hadn't bothered to change and showed up dressed in all black. And while his clothing made him stand out as well enough off amongst the average human race, he was dressed fairly below his station within the palace. A fact that didn't seem to go unnoticed by anyone he came across as he walked the grounds, causing a few heads to turn and others to attempt not to make eye contact. It caused him satisfaction, like it always had when he returned looking and seeming off from his attempts to blend in with a world slightly unlike their own. Kayden knew that he wasn't going to be allowed to just walk into the castle and see his cousin without question. He knew that he was going to have to face Mikino, he'd been warned of that much. He made his request for an audience and then began to look around the room as he studied his surroundings for any changes that had been made since the last time he'd been there, half out of the boredom of coming back and half to ease the nerves he felt under the surface about what state Azyebel might have been in. He adjusted his glasses as he looked at a specific piece of art, as if he really needed the fashion frames to correct his vision, then turned his body and attention towards the sound of someone else in the room. "I've come to see my cousin, Azyebel Salicar, if that's at all possible."
