"Perhaps," she commented, stroking Lithailin once more before turning back to face Mikino. "If there is anything that is going to stand between him and his prize, it shall be his own actions and nothing more. You will have little need to." She did not fully understand the depths of the rivalry between their two houses, but she did not ask either. She was content to accept the fact that there had been a spark of ignition to solidify such a dislike and be done with it. Given her position, it was beneficial to remain a third party until such a time that she needed to step forward and proclaim her own allegiances.
"The North can imagine as it wishes, the West will always welcome the Lord of the South whenever he should deem it necessary to cross its borders." It was as true as statement now as it had been the first time she'd offered it to him. Should he ever need her to stand with him, she would do so. Years of friendship had earned him that right. "Though, the next time you do frequent my home, ensure that you bring Shayleiah. It would do Mother's disposition some good to have a child's laughter in the halls once again."
She did not speak of the benefits such a thing would have for herself. There was no need.
