On the surface the interest and ambition of each candidate rolled like waves on the sea, rising and falling as it progressed, while below the surface lay the current of true intent. She had wondered briefly whether Minkino would find himself a place among the suitors, but had not found herself surprised when he had not stepped forward. Not even Judgement could stretch itself that far.
"As I've been told, a lady does not hunch," she responded, dismissing the comment with a wave of her hand as though it held no spot in truth. It was not a lie, but he would see through it as easily as he would if she had. Avalynn was only a proper Lady when she needed to be. Court politics mandated it, as did those within her own lands. In those moments when she could escape both, however, she was simply herself with no obligations nor restrictions and Mikino was well aware of her little secret. Lately it seemed that only when she escaped to her stables could she find such a moment.
Such a thought brought with it reminders of what she had been attempting prior to his presence and she wondered what the likelihood might be to stretch his goodwill and presence a little further. There were all manner of things she wished to speak of, but none of it was of particular importance. Still, it would be a waste to relinquish such a meeting so shortly after it had begun.
"I'm afraid I shall do the unthinkable and hold you to your generous words so shortly after you've spoken them," her tone apologetic and yet grey eyes held her amusement for those who knew to look "Walk with me?" she asked, taking a moment from her silent challenge to him in order to signal the direction she wished to take should he agree to the request.
