RP: Her return
Characters: Lily Lu, Noah
Time/Date: Late morning, October 31
Location: Gryffindor Commons
Warnings/Rating: None
Summary: Lily returns to school
Status: Complete

Lily had been seen by the same healer last night, and then once she'd gotten to school she'd been scooted in to see Miss Legard. Flooing over had actually made her a little sick, but she'd gotten a potion for that, and one for the pain, and she'd listened while the dark haired healer explained the situation to Miss Legard.

She hadn't missed the blonde witch's reaction to hearing the extent of the injuries, and Lily was once again confronted with how close she'd come to seeing the other side. To dying.

After she was released, Lily headed up to the commons to get her books together for classes. She was behind on her homework, but she reasoned that her brush with death would excuse her and grant her some extensions.

Since she didn't have anything really until the afternoon, Lily decided she could start on that whole 'catching up' thing now. Plunking herself down somewhere visible, she decided she'd get done what she could before she was met with the 'how are you's and other concerns from her housemates.

"So you managed to miss all the action then?" she said as she glanced over to him. "No bombs or curses for you? Did you just haul ass out of the village when it all started?" She imagined some people had tried to play hero, but she thought most of the smarter ones would've just... left.

"I ... don't know what all happened except what I overheard and what Meg shared, and she didn't stay. She ran like the smart girl she is. But I heard it ... it got pretty bad in the village."

Lily sighed, fingering the edge of her book. "I guess ... we just kind of wait and see what happens next. My dad and the other Aurors are out doing what they can about it."

"Non, I was lucky," he admitted with a shrug of his shoulders. "I wish there could 'ave been more that I could do, but at the time, I thought it best to return to the castle with the group I was with."

While it would have been nice to be a hero and help save people, at the same time, he didn't want to be in the way of people who really knew what they were doing ... or get himself hurt when he'd had a way to escape.

"I 'ope the catch more of the people responsible," he agreed with a sigh of his own, shaking his head lightly.

"They're looking, but ... the Death Eaters were masked and the werewolves weren't any different looking than the rest of the witches and wizards in the village. So ..." She shrugged. "This is how it was before, I guess. Back in the war. Strikes like this, and ... no one knowing where they could turn and the like."

Lily shook her head slightly. "It probably was best that you got out of there. I mean ... that's the smart thing to do. Let the Aurors and Hit Wizards do their jobs."

She shifted her attention briefly to the others in the commons before diverting her attention back to Noah.

"So, you want to help me with my homework, right?" She grinned to him.

"Oui, all weekend I 'ave been 'oping for your quick return so I could 'elp you with your 'omework," he agreed with a grin of his own, nudging her gently with his elbow.

"They did not give you a free pass, hm?" He questioned with a teasing arch of his brows. He thought almost getting killed was a good excuse not to have completely your homework, but apparently it only earned an extension.

"Yeah, that's kind of what I thought. Not thinking about snogging me or anything like that." She nudged him back with a grin before she tilted her head to kiss his cheek.

"No free passes, but some are more lenient than others. So I'm working on the things that I have shorter extensions on." She grinned slightly. She was sure she could play the 'but I almost died' card for most of them, but ... she thought she should save that for next time.

"Non, I am too much of a gentleman to ever think such things," he fibbed teasingly, grinning as she kissed his cheek. A part of him wanted to ask who she had asked to go to the dance with her, but mostly he thought it didn't matter since she was going with him anyway.

"Did you truly wish for help? I would not mind studying with you," he offered generously and most of it would probably be review for him anyway, though he was curious how much of a difference there was between his own schooling and hers.

Lily chuckled at his fib, dropping a hand to pat just above his knee before she rubbed his thigh gently.

She shook her head to his offer of help before she shrugged. "You can watch, if you want, but I wouldn't want to drag you back to fifth-year stuff," she said as she shifted to settle back against the couch.

Deciding she really should get going on her homework, she offered Noah a little smile. She'd be more than happy to keep chatting, but she wouldn't mind if they just ... did homework.
