RP: The Goblet Characters: Lan, Tris, Remus Time/Date: Evening, October 13, 2023 Location: Great Hall Warnings/Rating: None Summary: Lan puts his name in the cup Status: Complete
Landon had watched the unveiling of the Goblet just before dinner, and he'd stuck around after dinner to watch and see who put their names in. He wasn't the only one sitting around and watching; the Hall was lined with the audience.
It seemed to be a fair mix of younger students who were green with envy that they couldn't put their names in, and the older students scoping out the competition.
Lan watched as a tall, leggy witch in the Durmstrang robes stalked over to the cup and dropped her name in.
"Ready?" he said to Tristan.
"Really going to do it?" The older wizard grinned.
"Yeah," he replied softly. He was doing this only because he knew he wouldn't be chosen. He wasn't the best, the brightest, the fastest, the most clever. He was a good wizard, sure, but closer to average than amazing.
Tris, despite his penchant toward bragging, was only slightly more champion-like, at least as far as Lan was concerned.
"Want me to hold your hand?" Tristan grinned to his best mate.
"Dunno," Lan said, grinning. "Who's going to get jealous if they see that?" His blue eyes flicked pointedly toward the Gryffindor table.
Tristan laughed before he ducked his head slightly. "I'll risk it if you need someone to hold your hand," he assured Landon.
"Think I'll be all right," Landon said before he stood up. He crossed to the small podium that held the papers, and he carefully penned down his name. Tristan was beside him, doing the same thing. "Ready?" he said.
"Ready," Tristan agreed before he started over toward the Goblet with Landon. "Good luck," he offered before he dropped his name in.
"Same," Landon replied before dropping his name in as well. He did wonder if it would be rejected, but ... he was in the parameters, if just barely. When nothing was spit back out, he grinned to Tris before strolling back toward the Ravenclaw table to sit and watch and see who else put in their names.
