Summary: Rosie has a music night at the pub
The last year had been horrid, one of the worst she'd ever had, and as she looked around her pub tonight she could not help but to see the traces of that. As always these days it seemed.
The chair on the "stage" where Sanguini had sat every Saturday had been empty for too long, and even the ring on her finger did not make him less missed and her hope that he'd return soon smaller. And yet it was the absence of Romilda that every day still got to her. The fact that Liam arrived with his father or Millicent. That the girls were listening to Jane not her. That her room was occupied by someone else.
But it was a new year now, however. A new year, and it was time for new things - to move on. To forget the loss of loved ones and to gather up the pieces. The pub was doing well – as was the business upstairs – even with the robbery that had resulted in Seamus in the hospital. And even though the furniture was still transfigured to look and feel the same as they've been before the attack last spring, they worked and no one but she knew that there were still burnmarks in the floor – and that the furniture was still just a gathering of garden chairs and odd pieces of furniture from the Hog's head. In the end it didn't matter, because as long as people didn't notice things went on. As would they tonight.
It had been years since she'd had a music night – letting anyone play or sing on stage. Yet last time had been a success. She hoped tonight would be too. Putting a smile on her face, she checked the instruments and chairs, made sure everything looked as it should and that the bar was fully stocked. As soon as everyone was ready, she opened the doors, waiting for the crowd.
