Summary: As much as she hates it, Millicent finally goes to see that healer.
Already three times this morning, Millicent had tried to come up with an excuse of why she couldn't go to the clinic. She hated it, the very idea of letting a healer examine her, and knowing like she did what she should ask for when there made her only more reluctant to ever leave the house.
Still, she knew Justin would never let her back out now, and so they were soon leaving the house, dropping off Ella with Rosie before walking the last stretch to the clinic. It was odd how many second thoughts you could get during a few minute's walk.
As they stepped inside, she almost turned in the door, clinging more or less to Justin's arm, grateful he was there. Or not. If he wasn't she couldn’t ask them to perform the paternity spell. But she had to, she reminded herself. For once Miles had been right – Seamus had confirmed it – he deserved to know. Even if she was so scared she'd back out that she hadn't dared telling him she was going to ask.
A mediwitch or reception clerk or something stepped out from a nearby room to take their names and they nodded as she gestured them to two chairs along the wall. Sitting down, Millicent looked around, felling almost claustrophobic. The waiting room was long and narrow, and leading away from it was a long and narrow hallway with doors on all sides. All doors were closed, and as far as she was concerned this looked more like a prison than a clinic. But then she'd never liked hospitals either. Why couldn't someone make a nice one? With some sofa's and lounge chairs and warm colours? And without the narrow corridors?
She took a deep breath, and looked at Justin, waiting for someone to tell them this healer friend of his was ready to see them.
