Summary: Adrian and Cormac have a girl talk in a very masculine way.
Adrian was bored out of his skull.
There was only so much charm that paperwork could hold and that had disappeared about twenty minutes into it. One hour later and roughly 500 sheets of paper later, the latest closed cases had been neatly archived and Adrian’s hand hurt from using mostly-forgotten domestic charms. After all, at home, it wasn’t him who did any of the tidying, cleaning etc. That was what house elves were for.
He’d been working more than usual, finally making up for his disappearing act during Stephen’s kidnapping, and he wasn’t sure how he felt about it. He knew Stephen wanted him to be happy and that Stephen would be happier if he wasn’t working for the Aurors but he also knew that he had to something, that he’d be bored shitless otherwise. Although Adrian loved the life of the rich and idle, he started to go a little crazy if left to his own devices for more than a little while.
Or he started thinking about Stephen and children and the thought still kind of made him want to run away. It wasn’t that he was completely against it – that was what completely freaked him out – but the timing and the fact that if he said no when Stephen had said before that he wanted a family… He knew he couldn’t say no.
Sighing heavily, he looked around the office for somebody to pester and grinned as his eyes landed on Cormac. Picking up a piece of parchment and scrunching it into a ball, he lobbed it at his friend, only smirking when it hit the back of his head.
“Please tell me you’re bored shitless too?” he asked once Cormac had turned around. “Can’t we skip work and the boring paperwork today? Go out and find some crime to report?”
