Warnings: Stupid newly monogamous boy meeting Veela girl? Is that a warning? If not it probably should be.
Summary: Cass new resolve to be in a monogamous relationship is given a bit of a test as he runs into the beautiful – and part Veela – Gabrielle on his way to surprise Natalie with a kitten.
The clouds were threatening over his head as he pulled the cloak further around his body and the small burden he was carrying. Winds were picking up speed, and as the kitten meowed for attention he too increased his speed, urgently trying to reach his destination.
He was starting to regret his decision to not take a basket with him but carry the kitten in his hands, but at the time a basket had seemed like too much of an affair for one small kitten, even though the way she (he thought it was a she) was squirming and pretending his fingers were pray he wasn't sure if it hadn't been easier anyway. Still, he was pleased with his choice. This little one would fit Natalie perfectly, and perhaps be good as a way of apologising for letting her down. He still felt slightly guilty about making her cry. Even if he couldn't help it.
'Ouch, take it easy in there,' he exclaimed as the kittens tiny claws found their way into his skin, making him look down and thereby nearly crash into someone walking in the opposite direction. Looking up, he suddenly found himself looking at the face of what had to be the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. Not only beautiful, his mind (and other parts of his body) supplied, but alluring as well – as if temptation had suddenly found a human shape and appeared before him.
'Erm…' he started as seemingly he'd forgotten all manners he'd ever been taught, as had he – apparently – forgotten the entirety of the English language as what was supposed to be an apology for crashing into her did not sound like one at all.
Blinking he looked down at the meowing kitten in his hands, shaking his head. 'Sorry,' he finally managed to say, making sure he was back to his old self before smiling and looking up at her again. 'I've seen to have…' what was it he had thought to say again?
