Having been pointed this direction by one of the Eds, Jade and Double H make their way to the Sin, which is still quiet in restaurant hours.

"Doesn't seem very lively, does it?" Jade commented.

"It's still early in the day," Double H reminded her. "I'm sure as the evening comes, it will pick up. This is perfect for a chance to interview this Mister Greed. He'll be busier as more customers come in. We can get our pictures then."

"Come on, let's see if we can find this Greed."

They were stopped at the door, forced to turn over their weapons. Both looked at each other worriedly about that, but Jade could easily substitute any staff and while he wouldn't have his hammer, Double H was not without his energy shield his armor generated, so he was not helpless. If nothing else, they could play sword and shield. They were coordinated enough for it.

They looked around for the nearest employee. "Excuse me," Jade asked at the bar. "Where can I find the owner?"

The next day after their return from Silent Hill, Delilah walked into the Best Deadly Sin with Envy, Hohenheim, and Leah.

Envy, however, was not looking like Envy at the moment, wearing his original face.

With an orthopedic boot on, and leaning on a cane, Delilah looked rather worse for the wear, still too pale with dark smudges around her eyes from the lack of sleep. The short nap she'd had took the worst of the edge off, but not enough.

"Hi, Dorchette," she greeted the chimera as they walked in, and ignored the boggled expression that came over his face when he registered who all was with her. She led them to an empty table not far from the stage, even though it was currently unused, with the music provided through the speakers and a radio system.

Delilah arrived for work, with Leah in tow as usual, but this time, she brought along a newcomer.

"Roy?" she asked as she approached the bar, beckoning for the alternate to follow. "Do you know of any Edwards who might have passed through or arrived recently, looking to be in his late teens or early twenties?"

After hauling Winchester into the Nexus to prove that he wasn't going mad, Pierce took him to the best place he knew about to get the kind of liquor that would satisfy the snobbish doctor's tastes.

"It's still in restaurant hours, but the place gets pretty noisy at night when the club starts hitting its stride," he explained as he walked toward the bar.

Elsa's been AWOL for about a month now, and when she finally walked back into the Sin, she looked like hell. She slid onto a barstool at the bar, gave Roy a weak smile and ordered her usual. She barely touched it.

(This is an open post if anyone feels the need to comment; and worry not, posts like this won't be a regular thing, and all but one song featured are just portions and snips, rather than the whole thing. A link to another post is at the end if you want to see the full lyrics without having to go hunt them down.)

The Best Deadly Sin.

Cecilia Benoit stood outside of the bar regarding the sign, then looked down at the advertisement in her hand.

Greed was never entirely happy about the fact that his employees needed and deserved and got days off. Especially when some of them coincided, and it meant he had to actually work.

In this case, he was behind the bar, showing off with his usual flair because if he had to be stuck working on Mustang's day off, damn right he was going to wow as many as he could.

And just working wasn't quite the type of wow he was going for, shut up Martel.

The phone rang and he slapped the end of it to make it flip up in the air, and with a deft twist of his wrist, caught it. "The Best Deadly Sin, where we serve 'em up on a silver platter. What's your interest?"

Limping forward [Apr. 9th, 2010|10:18 pm]

The Best Deadly Sin was open, but it was still early afternoon. Roy was not at work yet, and she wasn't entirely certain the owner would be there either. It was mostly empty, with a few diners having a late lunch, and maybe one or two dedicated barflies getting an early start. The smaller of the two male bouncers, whose name she had yet to catch, was sitting by the door, his chair tipped back to the rear two legs with one of his feet up on the wall for balance.

"Hello," she said as she pushed her hood back, letting it fall to her shoulders. "Could you tell me if the owner is here and available?"

He looked her over before moving his foot, letting his chair rock forward to all four legs, and stood. "I wouldn't use the word available around the boss, because he's always available for pretty people." The man grinned. "But yes, he's here. You're Delilah, right?"

"That's correct."

"All right." He led her toward the back of the establishment to a door. "Wait here," he said, and rapped his knuckles twice on the door, then opened it, sticking his head inside. "Yo, boss. Delilah's here to see you."

She heard a voice inside but could not make out what was said, and then the bouncer waved her past. "Go on in."

Venturing forth [Mar. 17th, 2010|09:10 pm]

The first two full days in her new home, Delilah did very little. She tended to Jäger, and nibbled at the food her mother had sent along. The kitchen still intimidated her, although she had a pleasant moment of victory figuring out how the water worked in there, with the long lever instead of the knobs like in the room with the chamberpot.

By the second day, she began to unpack the trunks and sort her belongings, placing folded dresses in the chest of drawers in the bedroom, and storing her bow and arrow in the tiny room off to the side with a shelf and rod.

On the third day, the bread was almost gone, and while the sausages and cheese would last a bit longer, she was growing extremely tired of them both, having had nothing but to eat for the last couple of weeks in hiding. Food held no real appeal to her, but it was time she at least made an effort in this place, and perhaps figured out what to with the kitchen. The idea of the telephone and using it to speak to people she could not see and did not know was too intimidating, and that left the choice of the tavern. A tavern could not be terribly different than the few she had seen in her life, right?

She pulled out a fresh gown, a new dress woven from soft black wool that her mother made after her return from the ducal estate, and donned the deep hooded black cloak her mother had given her for her journey into exile. One more check on the falcon, who was still agitated and uneasy in his new surroundings, and she followed the written directions to locate the tavern.

Even from the outside, she held little hope it would have anything familiar, but the sign was unmistakable and it was definitely the right place. She hesitated a moment, then struggled a bit to pull the door open, and stepped inside.
