WHO: Dante and Open
WHAT: Dante needs an adult
WHERE: The village
WHEN: Monday afternoon
WHY: He's conflicted
RATING: Low probably
STATUS: Incomplete
With work done for the day, Dante should probably head home and get some sleep. But even at home, he was restless. It wasn't a bad situation, not any more. He knew where he stood with Léon. Even though Dante might not like it, at least they now had some boundaries between them. He didn't go home because it was awkward - things had pretty much settled down - but Dante was lonely. It was sad, and pretty much the gayest thing that had ever gayed, but Dante played it off as people-watching. It was too hot to drink coffee, and Dante knew that he had to head home eventually and sleep so he could get back to work within 12 hours.
The world just wasn't agreeing with him. If he could leave? He would. He'd pay the rent up until the new year and wish Léon the best and still stay friends. But no matter with what some asshole ex-Auror had to say, there was still work that needed to be done and he actually liked his coworkers. Unfortunately, dating a coworker wasn't in the cards because it would just make everything muddled. Dante didn't want to have favorites at work, and at the moment, he didn't.
So, instead of drinking coffee or anything stronger, Dante was sitting on a bench, a cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream melting in his hands. He'd already spun the spoon around enough to get it to the creamy consistency that he actually liked, but didn't have the heart to eat it. The sun was gnawing slowly at his arms and face. Setting the cup to the side, Dante leaned back against the bench and sighed, his left arm moving so his eyes were caught in the crook of his arm. He looked deceptively casual, but his fingers were hanging down, an inch away from his arm. Hopefully no one would think he was homeless, but in a way, it would be true.
