Valoth, duty finished, curled back into the dragoncouch and shifted until he was satisfied with his position. He ducked his head to the side, rested his jaw on a higher potion of rock, and closed his eyes. This silliness was for humans, he had no interest in the conversation now that they were out of the water.
K’rin tossed the shirt the healer had shed across the other chair and fetched one of his larger tunics for her, returning and brushing her hands aside to help her with the laces. Once she was free he threw the material towards her drying shirt and rubbed her dry with a small towel before dropping the clean shirt over her head. “Arm. There you go. Up,” he took her hands and rose, pulling her upright enough to push her water-logged panties down to join her skirt and wiping the rest of her dry. Somewhere along the way she’s lost her shoes. “Better? Sit down, you’re leaning.” He got her settled into the soft chair once again and knelt down between her legs, hands splaying on opposite arms of the chair.
“I do like you, dimglow. Why do you think I’ve kept my distance?” He reached up to brush a strand of hair behind her ear. At least she hadn’t had a full proper soaking. “I’ve been awful company, I rather doubt you’d like to be around for my bad mood. I may be going insane,” he chuckled darkly, dropping his hand onto hers in her lap. “You’re a smart woman, Kenzie, you should know better than to think I hate you.” Avoiding was not the same thing.
