Who: Piper and Daniel
What: Bagels and playing Santa Claus
Where: R1
When: Christmas morning
Warnings: Eggnog?
He'd woken up early enough to trudge through the snow, to the Jewish bagel shop down the block to get a bag of bagels and cream cheese and two cups of strong coffee. He hadn't, however, considered how challenging carrying Daniel's stocking full of Christmas loot was going to be, so he had to make multiple trips.
First, the bagels were left by the sliding glass door. They were followed by the overflowing stocking, which was clearly weighed down by something alcoholic that Piper seriously considered losing on the way upstairs. In the end, he left it, just because any presents had to be a good thing, when a person was locked away like Daniel was.
He went down to the bottom step, just to retrieve the coffee cups where he left them, when he saw the brown-wrapped... painting? It had to be a painting... at the end of the roof landing. He took the coffees up, knocked once on the sliding glass door and called out loudly. "I'll be right back," around the area he knew to be Daniel's bedroom.
Then he went to fight with the painting.
Getting his arms around it was hard, and fighting his way up the balcony steps with it was even harder. By the time he neared the top, his curls were sweat-damp, and he'd cursed himself all over the damned place for not just knocking on the front door and insisting Daniel grab the damned thing. It was probably from Jane. Only Jane would send such a large annoying thing, when the man would clearly prefer something smaller - like a flash drive with lingerie pictures or something.
Getting it through the door onto the balcony was an even greater challenge, and he called loudly for Daniel, hoping the other man had opened the sliding glass door and could hear him.
