Shiloh made soft, comforting sound, and he pulled Aaron further away from the room, away from Shane, as far away as he could get him, while still remaining in the apartment. "Listen," he said loudly enough to be heard over the crying, "I'll make sure they're okay. It'll be fine." He tipped Aaron's chin up, careful to cover his hand with the sleeve of his sweater before he touched. "I promise you that I'll make it okay." He meant it with every fiber of his being.
