"Vampires get a bad rap. So do man-eating tigers, so I can sympathize," he said. Literature wasn't exactly Sam's strong suit - he was more scientific, obviously - but he had read Bram Stoker's Dracula for school and remembered that Mina was one of the protagonists. "You get to be the heroine though, so that's kind of cool. Wasn't Mina kind of like a double agent? Since she used the mind doohickey to track down Dracula. Maybe you should have a spy name."
However, Javert was not a protagonist, and he pulled a face. "Luther's alright," Sam conceded. He could admit to that, at least - even if he just didn't understand his motives for which criminal acts to pursue and which ones to just let fall by the wayside. "But she locks herself in with Javert every full moon because she's afraid he'll try to kill himself, since apparently he's a dipshit and doesn't realize that if Luther's body dies, so will he." The whole thing really bothered him, and it wasn't because he was trying to be an overprotective ass - he genuinely did not want Joanie to get hurt. "I can't stand it. But it's difficult because, well, the tiger wants to maul everyone so it's not like I'd be much help there. And now they're out in the real world so you can understand my frustration."
