Who: Luther and Joanie What: Getting to the airport then waiting for their plane Where: Lobby -> Road -> Airport When: Around 12:30 the day after they get back Warnings: Bromance.
After her conversation with Luther, Joanie had to get ready. She packed a duffel bag with some spare clothes and basic necessities along with all the makeup she owned. The bruises on her face had grown more intense over the night, requiring that she cake her face in foundation to hide the color. After putting on a casual shirt and jeans, she took Zeph and his essentials up to Sam. They dallied for a few minutes, and only when she realized that she was going to be late did she peel herself away and dash down to her apartment.
She picked up her keys and both helmets, slinging the duffel over her shoulder and locking her apartment. After adjusting her ponytail low against the nape of her neck, she hurried down the stairs into the lobby, where she and Luther were to meet. She couldn't remember if she had told him they were taking her motorcycle - hell, she couldn't remember if she had told him she owned a motorcycle - but the two black crash helmets clenched in her left fist should have tipped him off.
Leaning back against the wall of mailboxes, she sighed, looking down. She had everything she needed - wallet, keys, essentials, clothes - but she was on edge. Her ribs ached, as did her entire body, though she wasn't about to tell Luther that. After all, he'd forbid the motorcycle, and she was determined to get at least that joyride out of all this mess.
