He scratched at the back of his head, looking around self-consciously at the people nearby, none of whom were paying the pair of them a lick of attention. Gathering up his wits, he closed the space himself and took hold of her hand, using her help to haul himself up beside her. "You are absolutely insane, I think," he said under his breath as he glanced about, feeling more than a little silly standing up here.
"I was... confident. I thought I could save the world when I got out of medical school," Oliver said, in no way yelling this to anyone, merely telling it to Miksa in lieu of the entire world. "My studies were my life. Then once I got a job at the hospital, I lived and breathed that place. I loved what I did and I lived what I did." He kicked at the stone wall beneath them, looking back out towards the fountain. "I miss it some days."
