It was easy to match her pace, no pressure or hurry to reach their destination. For a moment, he was tempted to slide his hands back in his pockets, but he stopped himself at the last moment and settled for just leaving them relaxed at his sides. "I've kind of picked up on that," he said with his own smile, giving her a sidelong glance.
The air was warm, but not uncomfortably so, and it made him glad that he was wearing a t-shirt instead of anything heavier. "I thought you said you were from New England. They have shaman there?" He couldn't help his grin once more, it trailing off into a sigh. "And it's not that I think poorly of myself, I just... Never thought of myself as anything particularly special. Just a man who made a mistake and who prefers to go unnoticed."
