Shane entertained the efficiency of simply pushing Vlad over the rail and watching him fall. He stayed close to the wall, himself, where he could keep an eye on Vlad as well as the stairs above.
"I'm never going to believe you," he said flatly. "Why do you even bother anymore? Let's be honest. If I could have proven anything about you by now, I would have turned that proof over to the police. You might as well give up the lie. At this point, it's just boring."
When this watch was over he was going straight back to the man who'd posted the schedule and find himself another partner. He couldn't take spending three hours at a stretch with Vlad.
