"He's an adult, and he's got family who have to sign for him, I'm guessin?' No matter, we'll deal with it as it comes. I ain't scared of Jackie, and we can hide from Evie," she said, intentionally smiling at Hannah to get her to worry less. "Tell me about you and the full moon, sugar," she coaxed, wanting to distract her as they exited the car and walked into the hospital.
Boyd knew the place well, having just been there, and she just smiled at the familiar nurse and walked right past her to the elevator, smiling at Hannah harmlessly. She looked for all the world like she thought she belonged there, and so she did, and no one bothered her. She pushed the elevator button for the ICU and CCU floors, assuming he'd be in one of those wings, and she tucked a strand of Hannah's hair behind her ear. "Red's a fool. She got herself locked in a closet and tied up with duct tape on the full moon," she admitted.
