Who: Everyone!
What: Transformation Plot Post
Where: All over.
When: Moonrise on the 28th.
Warnings: All kinds, I expect.

The moon slipped up past the horizon full, round, and white. Its effects had been predicted, though perhaps not fully believed by the residents of the building.

Moonlight streamed through the windows of the building, washing the city in pale light. For the tenants of Bellum Letale, where ever they were, scattered in the night, it had a tangible effect.

Change rippled through the building, much as it had over a month before. But this was not simply a twitch in the fabric of things, gone in the blink of an eye. It was a rolling change, gradual as the moonrise, tangible, and, in some cases, likely terrifying in its inexorability. People became what they were, what they ought to have been, and what they weren't.

The moon was up, and trouble was about to run high in Bellum.

[Notes: Remember that the events of last month still apply-I.E, those who became vampires will be vampires when they take on their fable form, the Frog Prince will still be human after being turned back last plot, etc. Whether the fables are aware a month has passed since they were last around is up to the players. This log posted with the anon account so that the mods do not wake up tomorrow with 100 notifications in their gmail. Go forth and plot!]

Red's struggles were ignored for the most part. Hauling the girl backwards up the stairs required less physical exertion from the Witch than it should have. While she kept a hand tangled and reigned in Red's hair, power itself seemed to drag the girl along as they went higher and higher. The Wolf, of course, had not learned from his first try at biting her. When he snapped at her and Red's ankles, the Witch glowered. But before she could swat at him again, Red had spun and sank her teeth into the soft flesh of the Witch's inner arm.

She snarled and slammed the girl into the railing, knocking that pretty crown of red into with wall with a firm, careless whack before hauling the girl back against her like a shield again. "Now stop that, little one, before you hurt yourself.."

The railing and, subsequently, the wall knocked the wind right out of Red and made her see stars, and so she didn't fight immediately when she was hauled back. After a few moments, however, she reached back, fisting her fingers in all of that blank, inky hair. She pulled forward as hard as she could, shifting her own weight forward at the same time, sending both the witch and herself off balance, down and down and down.

They tumbled past the wolf, skidding upside down and on their sides to the bottom of the stairs where they spilled onto the landing in a heap. The Witch righted herself on her knees, the dress becoming torn once more. While Red's hair was still held in the grip of her hand, the Witch hauled her toward the edge of the next batch of stairs and sent her with a full heave down the next flight. Red could go down to hell for as much as the Witch cared.

The Wolf could do little more both snap at empty air as the two women tumbled down the stairs. Then they hit the landing, and then the Witch took Red by the hair-

By the time the Witch was shoving Red down the stairs, the Wolf was on her. He felt something akin to panic mixed in with the anger, but he wasn't fast enough to knock her down before she could throw Red. He leapt from the stairs and onto the Witch. This was going to end, and end now. Tearing her apart was his only thought.

She'd freed herself from the girl, who now seemed to be nothing but an unconscious heap of red on the next landing of the stairs. But before she could even begin to right herself, the Wolf was on her. He was claws at her collar and teeth snapping so near her face. Flat on her back, the Witch cleaved at him soundlessly. A flex of her arm sent the animal flying back toward the opposite wall with an audible collision. The Witch sat up slowly and shook out the tangled kink of her hair. Claw marks ripped down one shoulder of her dress in angry, blood red lines.

The Wolf hit the wall hard and the floor harder, and didn't move. Red was still at the bottom of the stairs, and he wasn't moving, hanging on the edge of consciousness. He twitched and tried to lift his head, but couldn't quite manage it, a brief whine sounding in the hall, then nothing.

She tended to her wounds in that moment. When wiping at the blood on her shoulder ceased to still it, she simply reknit the dress with a brush of her hand and stood. The Witch ached, and was displeased by the softness of this human body. So worn and easily banged up. She sniffed, collecting the focus of her eyesight before treading down the stairs warily. Above her, the Wolf stirred and whined, but Vaughn did not turn back.

She collected the redhead in her arms, and turned down the lower hall for the elevator. It was time to be gone.

Halfway to the elevator Red started to regain consciousness. Her head hurt, and it took her a minute to realize she was moving. Moving? She didn't even wait to see who was carrying her before she began to scream.

The Wolf was determined not to fall unconscious, and he clung to blind rage to keep from doing so. He rolled over, finding his feet, and saw the Witch at the bottom of the stairs with Red in her arms.

He charged down the stairs, slowly at first, then faster, still favoring his leg but moving with impressive speed, intent on catching the Witch before she got to the elevator. Red started screaming as he darted off the landing, running full tilt toward the Witch, still a little disoriented but no less ready to finish what he'd started than he had been the last few times he'd made the attempt. He wasn't going to give up just because she'd nearly knocked him out.

The elevator doors were peeling open as the Wolf rounded the corner off of the landing. Red's screaming was an unwelcome irritation, and likely to draw more attention than the Witch wanted to deal with. Almost immediately after it began, the sound was muffled as she snapped Red's teeth together without so much as the use of a hand. The stern hold of her eyes saying well enough that if Red could not control her tongue, the Witch would simply rip it from her mouth without ever having to bloody her fingers.

The Wolf was approaching with admirable speed, and the Witch smiled. It was impressive, as she knew that he'd become wounded during their fray. So had she. The Wolf's endurance was almost touching, so much trouble expended for such a foul child, but the Witch would not let him grow close again. Not with those teeth and those claws. Retreating one step into the elevator, she dumped that struggling heap of red onto the floor at her feet and guided the Wolf with a sweep of her hand into one wall. Then the other, and back again. The zig zag of a furred pinball in a machine. It was the last thing that Red and herself were fit to see before the doors fully closed, and they ascended.
