Who: Everyone!
What: Transformation Plot Post
Where: All over.
When: Moonrise on the 28th.
Warnings: All kinds, I expect.

The moon slipped up past the horizon full, round, and white. Its effects had been predicted, though perhaps not fully believed by the residents of the building.

Moonlight streamed through the windows of the building, washing the city in pale light. For the tenants of Bellum Letale, where ever they were, scattered in the night, it had a tangible effect.

Change rippled through the building, much as it had over a month before. But this was not simply a twitch in the fabric of things, gone in the blink of an eye. It was a rolling change, gradual as the moonrise, tangible, and, in some cases, likely terrifying in its inexorability. People became what they were, what they ought to have been, and what they weren't.

The moon was up, and trouble was about to run high in Bellum.

[Notes: Remember that the events of last month still apply-I.E, those who became vampires will be vampires when they take on their fable form, the Frog Prince will still be human after being turned back last plot, etc. Whether the fables are aware a month has passed since they were last around is up to the players. This log posted with the anon account so that the mods do not wake up tomorrow with 100 notifications in their gmail. Go forth and plot!]

If Stefan noticed Ileana’s hesitance and nervousness, he didn’t show it. He knew Rosalie was a princess, as he knew that Ileana was not, and yet he also knew there was a ground of familiarity that they could stand on. Ileana was important to him as well. She shouldn’t be shy. Except for his moment of nakedness. He was glad that she turned around for that.

Still, he couldn’t complain. Just like last time the kiss started a new change in him, a sensation racing through him until he stood as a man before her once more. And just like the last time, as soon as it was over, he was ready to properly thank his princess. His hands reached up cup Rosalie’s cheeks and leaned into kiss her when something caught his eye. The doll. The doll was looking at them still. Creepy.

“Right. Clothes.” He promptly let Rosalie go once more as he scrambled for his clothes, pulling them as quickly as possible. For good measure he also turned his back on the doll but still cast the occasional glance over his shoulder at Rosalie. “I’m glad you finally came. Almost had me worried,” he laughed, a little more Stefan and a little less princely, probably since the crown was still at his feet. A few buttons were still left but once he was presentable he called out to Ileana. “You can look now. I’m decent.”

Ileana turned back around, finally looking down and noticing the doll hadn't. "Quit being so rude," she scolded the doll. It had the good sense, apparently, to look apologetic for an emotionless object. It turned on a little heel and marched off to another room, as if it was taking time to patrol the premise for protection.

"Ah, um. Sorry about her," she gestured to the doll. "It's very nice to meet a princess though! Stefan talked of you quite fondly!" Perhaps that shouldn't have been said with so much enthusiasm.

Rosalie looked curiously after the doll for a second. "Does she have a name?" The question was followed immediately by a small noise of protest. "I'm not a--" She broke off without finishing though because she was dressed in lace and silk and wearing a tiara so she might as well be a princess. "I-- he does?" She slid closer towards the man in question, suddenly feeling rather vulnerable about it, especially after what had happened with Boyd.

Stefan couldn't stay mad, not when the little doll decided to go on lookout. In fact he seemed downright impressed. Ileana's gossiping about how often he talked about Rosalie earned her a look, although it was quickly followed by a sheepish neck rub. "Yeah well..." There was still a good amount of modern day Stefan in him to protest that talking about his feelings was a big no, especially with other people here. Still, his Tale was a romantic one at it's heart and so he simply picked up Rosalie's hand, leaning forward and brushing his lips across the tops of her knuckles. "I've quite besotted, I admit. You were the one to lift my curse after all." His free hand swung low to the floor to grab his crown as he pressed a firmer kiss to her hand. As he straightened back up he placed the crown back on his head, a little sloppily but he didn't mind as it rested more on side than the other.

"Now," he turned his attention back to Ileana. "How do you feel?" He wanted to be more specific, wanting to see if she had any inclinations of visiting a certain witch. But if the girl had forgotten, he didn't want to remind her, and so he kept it vague.

Ileana couldn't help but to giggle, covering her mouth with her hands for a moment. While Vasilissa wasn't totally in charge, the mannerisms of a more modest girl were in charge. And a girl who was very enamored with the love story playing before her eyes, especially of a prince and princess.

Rosalie's question caught her off guard, "Oh! Her name is Dana. She's very helpful." She almost didn't answer Stefan's question, but told him honestly, "I still think I need to hide from a witch. She's...probably going to kill me for failing my tasks last time."

Rosalie was glad that Stefan had taken her hand, but the kisses were hopelessly distracting. She smiled at him and his lopsided crown for a second, pulling closer to him as she did so, and barely caught the end of Ileana's statement. "Witch?" She tensed and her eyes automatically flicked upwards to where she assumed that Daniel and Ella were safely boarded up together in R1.

Stefan’s hand slid across Rosalie’s waist as she pulled closer, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “Chicken hut,” he reminded her solemnly and in all seriousness. Looking back at Ileana he frowned as he thought of the best course of action.

“I could slay her,” that was always an option, although he knew – or rather, Stefan knew from the stories his grandparents raised him on - that the Baba Yaga was not one to be trifled with. Still, he did not want the girl in front of him dead, so if they couldn’t kill the witch, there had to be another way. “What other tasks did she give you? Perhaps if we can fulfill them tonight, it will be enough.” And if not, they could revisit this slaying notion.

Ileana shuffled her feet, toeing the carpet a little. "You can't slay the Baba Yaga. She's too powerful," she reminded him. Not that she wanted to slay the witch either, because it wouldn't gain her any help with her end. There were parts of the night Vasilissa knew that Ileana hadn't told anyone, like how exactly she was attacked.

"The other task I was supposed to was bring her blood from a vampire," Ileana admitted to them. "Which is why I got hurt.." She gently touched the scar on her neck, which was her own permanent reminder of her failed task.

Rosalie turned her face up when Stefan kissed her head and leaned into his side, doing her best to figure out exactly what Ileana's fable was supposed to be doing. She didn't like the idea of killing the Baba Yaga any more than she liked the idea of trying to get blood from Vlad and it showed on her face as her mouth turned down. "We can't just stay with the hiding plan?"

Stefan frowned deeper as his eyes flickered to her scar. He didn’t want Ileana anywhere near the vampire ever again. Although he wanted to protest that he could destroy the witch - it was what princes were for - he could admit that she was powerful. Rosalie did have a point, they could hide but, “We wouldn’t be able to hide forever.” He wasn’t sure the witch would come up to accost them, but they could eventually cross paths with her again. The Baba Yaga wouldn’t take too kindly to being avoided.

“I can go out then,” he decided. It was always best to meet such challenges head on. “You two stay here. Hide from the witch. Have Dana keep watch. I’ll fetch the blood and return.” The plan was so simple, it was bound to work!

Ileana gasped at the thought of Stefan actually going after the vampire. "No. No. No. And no," she said firmly, although there was a part of her that was aghast she talked to a prince in such a way. She wasn't stupid though, while the Baba Yaga was going to be very upset with her failure. She wasn't going to pull Stefan in to her own problem.

"We just hide," Ileana told him, "Until the witch comes, then I will have to deal with her. Not you."

Rosalie's head turned towards Stefan immediately, hair tumbling out in a blond halo for a few seconds with the movement. Her words echoed Ileana's. "No." Maybe she still didn't quite understand what the blood was for, but there was no way she was letting him go out there, especially to fight with a vampire that had taken on Daniel. "I know him; he won't hurt me." Not necessarily true and she knew it, but her hand was gripping his tightly and pulling him closer, all in an indirect command to stay. She glanced at Ileana, looking very resolved. "If you really need blood, I'll ask him for you."

Stefan was about to protest, for he wasn't too afraid to deal with the witch, when Rosalie dropped a bomb on him. "You know him?" His sweet princess knew such foul creatures? "You are not going." If he wasn't going to allow Ileana to go then he sure wasn't going to let Rosalie slip out of his fingers. "I will stay if I must but if I'm not going to retrieve the blood, no one is." That was final.

"We will wait here for the witch," he was careful not to say they would all hide. He for one wasn't about to shirk away should someone approach this area. "If she comes, we will deal with her then. We," he gave Ileana a stern look.

Ileana folded her arms in front of her, face creased with a frown. Princes and Princesses were terribly stubborn people apparently. "Fine. We will wait."

She thought it was a terribly unintelligent plan, so her own started to come together. If she just managed to get away from Stefan and Rosalie, Ileana could find the witch and explain herself. Perhaps the Baba Yaga was more forgiving than they would expect. She went and flopped herself down on the couch of the living room, sighing loudly. "I still don't like it," she told them pointedly, "You trying to fight the witch if she comes."

Slightly bewildered at Stefan's reaction, Rosalie drew back a little so that she could face him. "Why shouldn't I? He's not always a vampire." She didn't like being told that she couldn't go out very much either, but since she wasn't supposed to even be in the building, it wasn't the best idea to be walking around the halls anyway. "Would she even know to come here?"

Wonderful. Ileana was frowning at him and Rosalie looked like she was on the verge as well. Couldn’t they see he was trying to protect them? There were monsters and witches roaming about their lands and it was his duty as prince to take care of them. Why were they so unhappy? He almost called out to Ileana as she stormed away but Rosalie was now talking and he turned to look at her. He let out a low scoff at her reasoning. “You know this for fact?” He didn’t know this vampire like she did, but the Frog Prince was never too far from Stefan, even if he didn’t realize it. And as far as he (and Stefan) were concerned, Rosalie was practically a princess all the time. He wondered idly if Ileana was like her counterpart, and he reminded Stefan to be wary of the doll the next time he saw it.

Ileana’s voice cut through and he let out a loud sigh. “We can try to reason with her. And if not, bargain with her. But if all should fail, then I will strike first.” And hopefully it would buy the women enough time to flee. He would meet every challenge head on but he knew there was a good chance of failing miserably against this witch. His hand flexed at his side. Why didn’t he have a sword?

“She will know. She has her ways.” The Baba Yaga was a powerful one, and the Prince sifted through Stefan’s memories and thoughts (thankfully the man was being helpful and compliant, not wanting anyone in the room dead) and he added, “She was the one who predicted our return. Who knew the moon would bring us out once more.” He searched through the thoughts again and called out over his shoulder to Ileana, “She is the one on the second floor? Two-oh… something.” The last digit seemed to escape him, the man he inhabited never quite paying enough attention. Another thought and he added, “It doesn’t move around, does it? With the legs?” That might complicate things. Not that he was thinking about where he could find the witch himself. No, not at all.

"Not that I saw," Ileana told him with a small frown. She couldn't think she saw the house move, but it could always be possible. The little doll finished making it's rounds and stood rigidly in front of Ileana as if she was waiting for orders.

Ileana picked up her doll under her arm and stood up again. Her plan was finally settled on getting away from them so she could deal with it. Stefan would possibly be upset later, but he'd see it was for their own good. She wasn't going to get him and his princess hurt. Announcing to them, "I'm going to hide out in my room."

With that, she slipped inside her room and shut the door. Hopefully they wouldn't follow her or catch on. It was a pretty clever plan -- having that fire escape outside her window. With the doll now clinging to her skirts, Ileana opened the window and started to slowly scale her way down.

Time to find that witch.

Rosalie gave Ileana one last smile as she left the room, just as content to be left with Stefan. When they were alone, she turned to him fully and slid her palm along his free wrist to lace her fingers into his so that she was holding both of his hands. "I'm sure," she told him softly. This close, it was a little easier to tell how stressed she had been the last couple weeks. The skin beneath her eyes was a translucent lavender and she was, perhaps, a little thinner. Her eyes seemed to be happy for the moment though and her mouth slowly curved back up a little as she moved even closer. "You don't have to worry about me."

Stefan opened his mouth to protest, as hiding was a good plan, but in a room away from him was less so. But Rosalie was holding his hands and drawing his attention so completely that he barely heard the door shut. He searched her face, noting all the little signs that she had been stressed and he longed to trace them, will them away with his fingers. That would mean letting her go, so instead he gave her hands a gentle squeeze before leaning his head down, foreheads touching, nose brushing against hers.

"Just because I don't have to, doesn't mean I won't" he reminded her quietly before adding, "You haven't been resting, Sleeping Beauty," the irony of it quirking his lips slightly but his eyes remained serious. "Are you not well?" Was there something he could do?

Her breath hitched, just a quick unsteady jump, and she bit down slightly on her lip as she tried to think of how to answer. She had been sleeping, just not particularly well. Whether it was the unfamiliarity of the house or the recent circumstances that had brought her there, she was waking up multiple times at night. But to complain would have been unbecoming. She wanted him to think the very best of her and so it was much easier to slip into her usual response. "I'm fine." She even laughed a little, warm and soft. "Just life in the city plus finals. It's normal."

She didn't get any closer but instead peered curiously through her dark eyelashes, studying his face. "How have you been?"

She didn't look only fine, and his eyes narrowed slightly, but his expression faded at the sound of laugh and at his question he merely shrugged. "I have been well. Resting," another pointed look before he tilted his head up and gave the tip of her nose a kiss. "My fortunes have not lasted as long as I would have liked. I have been keeping myself busy in efforts to be more... presentable, for you."

Inwardly there was a small voice of protest of Stefan's non-princely self, but it was easily ignored. There were not many differences between the prince and his real life counterpart, and the prince didn't feel the need to hide anything. What Stefan saw as shortcomings, the prince only viewed as minor setbacks. He took a moment to disentangle one hand, lifting it up to smooth her hair back off of her face. "I've missed you. You should visit more often. But your finals will be over soon? Then you will have to come by more often." There was just a hint of a smirk in his voice and in his smile, the slightest of wags in his eyebrow.

Rosalie tilted her head a little, trying to decide exactly what he meant by presentable. She hated the idea of anyone feeling that they had to prove something to her with money. Money was stupid and tacky and she hardly ever thought about it except to purposefully ignore the issue altogether. Avoiding the subject of when she would be able to come by more, Rosalie pressed a little closer and brushed her fingertips against his face lightly, meeting his eyes solemnly. "You don't have to do anything." And then to prove it, she closed the distance, nudging his lips with hers briefly before turning her face up all the way for a full kiss.

He had protests of course, but they was momentarily silenced by her kiss. His hands fell, one curling around her waist, the other sliding up her back. His kiss was gentle at first, deepening as he held her against him, perfectly happy to stop this argument before it really begun. He had much to do, despite her insistence. She was a princess after all and needed the best that life could offer her. But if she could be content tonight with just a kiss then so would he. He would deal with everything else when the morning came.
