She didn't press; she only agreed, settling back and giving him a calm look. Aiden glanced at her again. She was a very different sort of person, able to predict the future, and he knew she'd had the ability even before getting here (though he imagined the building was helping her somewhat). Fortune-telling was always something he'd been interested in along with all the other occult mysteries of the world. It was part of the reason why he was here, after all. And she did it with such calm and straightforwardness, no messing around, no ritual other than the cloth and the careful lining up of the runes ...
"I'm ... curious about the runes," Aiden said after a bit of thought. "I've studied occultism for years and never actually met someone who could use them. Are you allowed to tell people how they work, or is that a trade secret?" It would keep his mind off the thought of impending doom, and he really was genuinely curious.
