Aiden Shepard [ Abraham Van Helsing ] (arcere) wrote in bellumlogs,
That was what Aiden wanted to believe. It was what he was almost convinced of, actually; sure, he felt unusual urges sometimes, urges to be polite and to slow down and think instead of lash out with furious haste, which he could attribute to the existence of Van Helsing, but they weren't controlling him. He was still Aiden Shepard, a man of his own, yes? And she corroborated that with her words. He could accept and believe that.
But ...
"I don't judge him because he's Dracula," Aiden said, his eyes narrowing. "It helps, especially if I really am Van Helsing, but it's not the reason I want him dead. I came here looking for him for completely different reasons." ... though now she was bound to be curious. Damn. Aiden glanced away, lips pressed together, and tried to find something to say that would pull the topic away from this mess. "I agree with your evaluation of this, though. We can't actually be these people. Otherwise I doubt we'd have had lives of our own."
