Boyd looked at both of them carefully. For some reason she trusted them both. She didn't know if it was their shared (messed up) history, or if it was just that they were both good, because they clearly were. The only thing Vaughn had disallowed was talk about being blackmailed. She could keep her word on that.
"She's in love with the man lives on the roof, or she was, now I don't know what she is really, but I was with him once, and everything's gone crazy with her since. She's been keeping him locked up there for years, ain't letting him talk to no one, threatening everyone he cares about if he even thinks about it. I didn't know she had feelings for him, but being real honest, I would have slept with him anyway." She said it with conviction, because there was absolutely no doubt of that in her mind. "She tried to kill me with a real big knife," she said in closing. Not dramatic, just real.
