He laughed and scooted to the side to offer her more space. "Guess being a frog for a day did more damage then I thought. Enjoy it while it lasts." He scopped a hefty serving of fried rice onto his own plate when she thanked him. He immediately waved the utensil at her. "Don't mention it. It's about time I started pulling my own weight around here." He hadn't exactly planned on staying very long either but things were looking long term now. Or at least, longer term.
"How... How're you feeling?" The question rolled out as nonchalantly as possible, making it easy to interpret it as just idle chit chat. But there was a slight tightness in his jaw as he looked at her and he knew she could tell what he was referring to. They hadn't exactly touched upon That Night, or the injuries she came home with. He wasn't particularly proud or happy that she was hurt while he had been sleeping or making eyes at Rosalie.
