Who: Cole & Ileana
What: Ileana got tore up by the vamp. Medical attention and couple hiding.
Where: 802
When: A bit after 4:30 in the morning. (g2b, everyone) During the Fable Plot.
Warnings: Icky blood and hurt/comfort probably.
Notes: Started here in the hall and ended here.

The walk up to 802 was a hazy memory, overlapped with nightmares of teeth and glowing skulls in the woods. She floated in and out of a state of semi-consciousness, making a grumpy noise when Cole jostled her enough to raise her awareness back to the world around her. All she wanted was to sleep for awhile. She was beginning to worry that perhaps this was a trick by the Baba Yaga. Make her feel safe, then punish the girl for failure of her task.

She couldn't find it in herself to ask too many questions -- wherever they were was warm and inviting and Cole(?) was a strong enough presence that she didn't find it in her to struggle. The only protest Cole got after they made it inside the apartment when he set her down, moving her to be sitting up rather than laying down. Sleep was creeping back in her mind, Ileana slumped back and looked around, "Where're we..?"

Ileana bit her lip to keep from giggling for a moment when she saw his face. He looked so flustered, even if a part of her was a little aghast she'd go and ask a man for help with something like this. It didn't matter, she reminded herself, because she needed the help otherwise she'd never get out of these clothes.

"I can lift it a little," she tried to rotate her arm a little. "I think if you can help me just get it off that side? So I can pull my arm out of the sleeve then I can be fine."

"Okay." Cole knew this wasn't proper, partly because he couldn't quite remember how he knew her and partly because... well, it just wasn't. Still, telling her no would have been rude, especially considering everything she'd been through.

All he had to do was make sure he didn't look like he was staring. The only problem was that trying to slip the garment off while looking away didn't work as well as he'd hoped.

It was hard to get past how awkward the air between them was, which was frustrating in some ways for Ileana. The problem with him not looking as he helped her out of the top was she was getting tangled in her own smock. Finally she just laughed, "This isn't working if you can't see what you're doing."

There was a part of her that really wanted to poke fun at Cole, but she stifled it. It took her a moment to compose herself to wiggle out of the garment, trying to ignore the how heated her cheeks went. She practically hid when she was free, "All right, I'm all set.."

The polite thing to do was avert his gaze, but he did have to admit that Ileana was right - he was practically useless like this. "Sorry. I suppose I'm just not used to... this." Helping women out of their clothing was something he'd never needed to do, although part of him whispered that he was overreacting; he'd seen women in lesser states of undress than this. Wait-- where had that come from?

"Oh-- okay. Uh, feel free to use the shower, and I'll... leave some clothes outside the door." Cole was beginning to realize that he wasn't exactly dressed normally, and he doubted the clothes he'd find in his room were anything like what he was currently wearing.

"I appreciate it," Ileana told Cole again. She shut the door after he stepped out and exhaled a long sigh. Really she'd rather have gone to lay down, but Cole was adamant that she shouldn't be sleeping yet. A shower seemed like it'd help keep her awake, hopefully she stay up till dawn. As she undressed the rest of the way, Ileana mused on the absurdity of the situation. It was hard, she realized, knowing that something is strange and not being able to pin why it all was weird.

It had to be one of the few times she wishes she was perfectly normal.

The shower did help with making her feel a little normal. The dried blood washing down the drain, even if it was a little struggle to deal with a swollen wrist. Stepping out of the shower, Ileana grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her. Shuffling a little over to the door, she grabbed the clothes that were outside the door with another quick "Thank you!"

A few minutes later, Ileana stepped out of the bathroom fully dressed. She made her way back in to the living room to curl herself down on the couch again, "I feel a bit better now."

He gave her a smile before she shut the door, exhaling heavily. With no idea how long the wolf and vampire would be running around, Ileana would have to stay here until it was safe to go out. He didn't have any stakes or garlic, although he did have a crucifix and some kitchen knives that might be able to work. Still, vampire hunting wasn't something he felt at all qualified for.

Cole went through the drawers in what he assumed was his room, frowning at how different the folded clothes were to what he was currently wearing. Everything would be too big for her, but in the end he chose a pair of sweatpants that didn't fit him anymore and a t-shirt. Leaving them outside the door in a neat pile, he headed to the kitchen to warm up some food for the two of them.

"I'm glad you're feeling better." He did feel sort of bad giving her leftovers - he had to remind himself that he knew what pizza was - but cooking wasn't one of his strong suits. "Here, you should probably eat something." Cole took a seat on the couch beside her, setting the plate of microwave-warmed pizza on the table along with a tall glass of water.

Ileana took a moment to recognize the food on the plate, but once she did she reached out for the plate. It was quiet while she ate one of the smaller pieces of pizza. Setting it back down, Ileana took a sip of water before she turned to Cole, "I'm really really glad I found you in the hall. I don't know what'd have happened if.."

It still was bothering her why she had such a fondness for this man, if she couldn't quite place where they had met before this. Her attention snapped back to him and looked a little bashful, "Does...do you know why we know each other?"

He tugged idly at his collar while she ate, wondering - not for the first time - why he was dressed in clothes that half of him realized were outdated. Whatever was going on, he really hoped it ended soon. "It was luck, I guess... if the wolf hadn't chased me up here, I probably would have made my way down to the-- lobby." Was that where he'd been headed? Cole couldn't quite remember. Outside, that had been his goal - whatever that was.

"Uh... no. Not yet, anyway." Cole knew that he knew her from somewhere, but the 'how' still eluded him. The level of concern he felt suggested that they were more than just friends, but how could that be? How could he not remember a relationship like that? "Do you?"
