Fables Plot Public Post!
Who: Public
What: The Open Post for Public Threading for the Epic Fable Plot
Where: Throughout the building.
When: 12:01
Warnings: Any number of crazy things could end up in here.
Notes: Alright! This post is for public threads only, and will be run party style. Anyone can jump into a thread at any time--just use your judgment! Feel free to hop around, go to different parts of the building, and mingle through the madness.

12:01. The beginning of a new day, just broken in, still fresh. Most of the building was sleeping, as decent people ought to be at such an hour.

The building, down at its foundations, was restless. A storm had been gathering for the past week, in its joints and its doorways, in its windows and its keyholes. 12:01, the storm broke over Bellum.

It was as if the building stretched, yawned, shook itself. There was a shudder in reality, as if the air itself was nothing more than a funhouse mirror. Faster than you could snap your fingers and the thing was done, set into motion before the darkest hours of the morning had yet come around.

A twitch, a snap, a static shock.

And then the changes started.

((OOC: Alright guys, go crazy! Feel free to post your location in the header of your comment so people can do a quick visual scan for the right comment and the right location. Mingle! Chat! Fight! Tackle one another!))

For a few moments, Will honestly considered throwing the man at the wolf and running for the hills. But in reality, he knew he couldn't do so. No matter how much of an ass he was, he couldn't bring it in himself to let the guy die. Even if it was a rather tempting idea.

Instead, he whispered "I hope you like flying," before tackling the guy round the waist and jumping over the wolf, landing perfectly on his two feet and setting the man back down. "Don't know about you, but running's a pretty good idea about now" he grinned before he prepared to take off toward the stairwell.

"Flying?" Cole looked at the man in surprise, but he barely had time to prepare himself for what happened next. One minute his feet were planted firmly on the ground, and then-- they weren't. It was a blur of gut-wrenching weightlessness before he felt solid ground once more, swaying unsteadily.

Wolf. Run. Yes. "That sounds--" He didn't bother finishing his sentence, taking one look over his shoulder at Shane before preparing to do the same.

Shane was ready to attack the newcomer when he suddenly leapt over him, and took the weaker, twitchier one with him. He jumped up, attempting to bite them in mid-air, but missed.

He landed on his feet and barked loudly in annoyance at the missed chance, turning to face them again. He stalked toward them, still growling, lips pulled back to expose long, razor-sharp, very white canines. Then he darted forward. Now was the time to run, as fast as their silly, long legs could carry them.

Cole was grateful to the man, he really was, but the wolf was right there and didn't look very happy. There was something oddly familiar about it... was it the eyes? But he was almost certain he'd never encountered a wolf before. Under different circumstances he would have introduced himself to his savior - was his name Ichabod or Cole? He couldn't quite remember - but now wasn't the time for pleasantries.

Now was the time for running.

So, Ichabod (Cole??) ran towards the stairwell, deciding to go up instead of down. He'd find himself an open apartment, hide, and wait the wolf out.

It looked as if they planned to go in different directions. Cole moved first, and Shane had spotted him first. He also didn't have that irritating jumping trick at his disposal, and chasing Will would do him no good if all it took for him to escape was a quick leap over his head. No, Cole was definitely the easier prey, so he chased after him, up the stairs, quite literally snapping at his heels.

Will was about to run away from them both, satisfied he took care of things when he saw the wolf chose to run after the other guy. Considering he was still somewhat in the way, his current situation was not improved. "Shitshitshit you better keep running!" he yelled up to nervous guy while he took off as well, ferreting around in his pockets for anything he could throw at the animal. Inside all he found were receipts and--beans?! Great, they were gonna die. Tossing the legumes at the wolf, he kept on moving.

At first, nothing happened. Then plants began sprouting out of the ground in front of the wolf. Sure they didn't grew to startling heights, but they were substantial enough that it would slow the creature down a little.

These humans were absolutely maddening. All he'd wanted was a decent meal, and the skinny one had been so convenient. Why had he given him the chance to run in the first place? When he grasped for a reason, he found nothing there. He should have just eaten him then.

When the beanstalks sprang up he was forced to correct direction, mid-step, and scraped against one of them as it grew up toward the ceiling. He pushed past the vegetation with a growl, blinded by rage, snapping his jaw. He was going to tear the skinny one into a dozen pieces when he caught up, and then he'd come back for the jumping one that had gotten between him and his kill.

By the time he got up to the next floor, however, there was no sign of him. He tried to follow his scent, but found it muddled, doubling back on itself and blending with tracks he'd made through the floor on days previous.

As he searched, he caught that light, warm, feminine scent again. The girl.

He barked at the door Cole's scent seemed to lead to, then moved toward the stairs. Forget it. There was a better, sweeter meal waiting where the scent led.

((ooc: Bouncing up here.))
