eta: i've run across what seems to be a baby cub, and am looking for advice on how to take care of it until i can get to the library.

Yeah, a really, really, REALLY long while ago! Come on, there aren't wolf packs running around Manhattan anymore than there are alligators in the sewers. I'm sure someone smuggled him in illegally.

I didn't say there were wolf packs, necessarily. I just wouldn't be one to assume that animals can't rebound after we humans pushed them all out of their natural habitat, but that's just me.
