Of course, if Daisy was going to put her foot in her mouth and say things that might make her come off as a threat, she was going to say it to Natasha Romanoff, one of the top former agents that SHIELD had. Because from Natasha's standpoint, SHIELD didn't exist anymore. Also, as far as the Avengers knew, Coulson had died at the hands of Loki before the Battle of New York. But seeing that she was sharing the same breathing space in the same alternate dimension as the freaking Black Widow had gotten Daisy a little excited. Which of course meant that she'd run her mouth and babbled stupidly. Way to make a good first impression there.
At least, Agent Romanoff had given her the option so that they could meet in person and discuss things. Because boy did Daisy have a hell of a lot of explaining to do now. Not only did she have to explain how Coulson was alive, but that he'd been running a secret team of SHIELD agents after he'd been brought back, and that she was one of them. And that she'd helped him reform SHIELD in secret after it had been dismantled by the discovery of HYRDA. And she'd have to explain Inhumans, went meant that she'd have to explain herself, what she was, what her people could do, and what that meant for everyone. Oh crap. Explaining that she could cause earthquakes wouldn't make the other woman think that she was something that to be taken out, right? After all, she was on a team with a god and a giant green monster, so that meant that she'd be understanding of an Inhuman, right? Daisy sure as hell hoped so.
When they'd decided on a coffee shop to meet up at, Daisy got there early, because she was a completely bundle of nerves. She was meeting Natasha Romanoff. She had a hell of a lot of explaining to do Natasha Romanoff. She could do this. She could keep herself perfectly in check, and not accidentally cause any earthquakes because she was letting her nerves get the best of her. She could do this. She ran a team of people trying to find Inhumans like her. She'd faced aliens, HYDRA, and near-death experiences. She could handle one former SHIELD agent who would hopefully not view her as a threat.
Suddenly, Daisy found herself wishing that they'd picked a bar to meet at instead. Alcohol would certainly come in handy right about now.
