Laurel had a trying morning, she had been so wrapped up in a case with gathering information, she didn't even notice the time tell there was a knock on her office door. He eyes looked up and then had the clock, "Come in, Ollie," she called out as she scribbled a few notes down, "Sorry, lost track of time. Give me two minutes and I'll be ready to go." Oliver could tell that she was busy. "Are you sure you have time to do this?" he asked. "We can reschedule for another night if you have to work. I will understand." She looked up at him, shook her head no, "We are going out," she wasn't going to push back their first official date, was he mad? She put her files away, grabbed her purse, "where are we going?" He grinned at her, glad that she wasn't cancelling their date. "Do you know 'Mon Amour Cafe?" he asked. Knowing Laurel, she probably already had been there. "Is that the French place?" she asked as she moved over to him, kissed him lightly on the lips, smile brightly as she greeted him properly, "Hello!" "Yes, it is," he said. "Hi," he said, grinning at her and kissing her back lightly. He really hoped that they could make this work this time. "I've heard of it, haven't been there yet," she confessed, then smiled brightly at the kiss. She linked her arm to his. "Shall we go then?" she asked brightly. "I think that that sounds like a great idea," he said, starting to lead her out of her apartment. He was very glad that they were doing this. She smiled as they paused outside her office and she locked the door. "I'm glad for the break," she admitted softly. "I'm glad that you found the time to squeeze me in. I know that you're very busy," he said. "Just bad landlords," she shook her head and then sighed, "you know what babe, lets just no talk about work." "Now that is the most sensible thing I've heard all day," he said, leading her outside to his car. He opened the passenger door for her. "I have ideas from time to time, that could be fairly good." She smiled at him then moved to buckle belt as she leaned back in his car, "Nice," she commented with a smile He climbed into the drivers seat of the car, and he pulled out toward the restaurant. "I think it's more than from time to time," he said. "And what gave you that moment of clarity?" Laurel asked with a small smile, her eyes looked over at him as her smile brightened up. "Since we started trying this again," he said. "I'm glad that we are trying this again. I know that.... things have never been easy between us, mostly because of me." "Mostly?" she asked, but then held her hands up, "Yeah...." she wasn't even sure what to say, but then she laughed, "I hated coming here, but I'm glad that I'm here with you." Her hand touched his arm, "really glad." "Okay, well then, all of it was because of me," he said. "I am glad that we decided to give this a chance because I wasn't sure that you would want to do this after the way things were left between us. But I'm glad of that. Really glad. She looked at him, "we...have been dodging trying this for awhile." She frowned a little and then sighed, "no talk of this as well," she replied softly, then looked at him, "we are doing this, we don't need reminders of the past or why we decided not to, I love you, Oliver and I want to do this with you. I know we can't erase what happens, but...we can work on getting pass it." |
