It was 11:30 at night and the perfect time for the bar to start picking up. Adalene walked out of the office in the back and into the main part of the bar.
From the outside the bar would fool you. It looks small and is made of brick without many windows. Inside the bar has a wrap around bar with a small break for a stage where the hottest bands would go to perform. The dance floor was in the middle with four twisting stairs on every corner leading up to the second floor where people could have a more private area and look down at the dance floor. Mirrors replaced the wall and the dominate colors were red and black.
Adalene smiled as she walked past the stage and nodded at the lead singer of the heavy metal band performing that night. Those that were her regulars said hello to her or just nodded showing tha they saw her. When she finally made it to one of the staircases and went up its winding steps to lean on the railing and look over the people trying to enjoy the night. A small smile played on her face as she watched them.
Not many people know what they have even when the secret is right in front of their faces. Adalene loved watching people and then hearing their reactions when some of the crimes being plotted she overhears makes it to print the next day. However on the opposite side she did wish she could have someone know her as who she really was rather than Veronica the bar owner or Roselyn the reporter. Adalene was a little worried that if she continued the way she was going with her secrets the real her will soon die out. Her hope of her life and solving the mysterious that led her here along with it.
She hung on to the railing as she quietly listened to the people in the private areas sectioned off with thick blood red fabric. All the while she watched everyone who came in keeping track of what was going on always. Veronica always made sure her bar was a safe haven for humans, superheros and villains.
