He watched Danny now, he looked like he was accepting it enough and Stan hoped that it would stay that way. He didn't really enjoy lying, it had become a necessary evil in his current life and he accepted it begrudgingly. No, he had to stick to the plan and the plan didn't involve people learning he had abilities.
"The first people I happened upon assumed I was a missionary or tourist that got lost. But by the time I got to South Africa, I had run out of cash. Worked as a welder down there for a while, kept my head low and tried to work off some old debts. By the time I thought I might have enough to do anything..my memory came back and I headed back here."
Yeah, bit of a far cry from the fact he worked as a teacher and spent the first year in South Africa researching multiple means (advanced and exotic) of bestowing super-speed to something. But nothing worked to his current level. Then a year spent traveling and researching other people with powers, not to mention just a little do-gooding. But he was back in Axis now, and the trouble started at home.
