At this point he was simply digging himself deeper. So Moretti was tapping - or planning to tap - the newspaper man. He could have gone without knowing that. It looked bad for both Aiden and Moretti. "I'm sorry, were you saying this dinner was business, or that dinner was business?" Was dismissive. "I'm simply surprised." And now if Aiden wrote something harsh, he'd have to wonder if it was Moretti's words through Aiden's mouth.
How much was puppet, how much was this man? Especially if they were lovers...It was sharp of Moretti, he supposed, unless the man actually cared for Aiden, in which case it was idiotic. He hated worrying about things like this. And if Aiden wrote something bad, he'd have to further question whether the partnership with Moretti Media was on solid ground. "Were you aware that Moretti Media and Price Corporation are currently discussing business partnerships?"
It was dangerously quiet, but they already had a table, so it'd be hard to back out now.
His blackberry buzzed, and with a flick of a long-fingered hand, he turned it off. No, this was not good at all, and the look he gave Aiden was far more focused now. "Six years is a long time to work for a company." Was a nudge.
