“Nearly a year.” Madison said. He wasn’t really one for small talk. He knew some people could go on and on endlessly but anything but Madison had always been for getting to the details, the main point of the argument. It served him well, get the information he needed without any silly, distracting details.
As they speed across town the graffiti and rubbish melted away and the streets became cleaner, wider, with glowing white brick buildings on either side. Polybius Towers appeared on the horizon and Madison turned down a side street, towards the underground parking lot, the entrance to which was kept hidden in case the tenants brought home someone they didn’t want the rest of the world knowing about. Madison had come in the way a fair few times before he’d move into the building himself, back in the days when he sold companionship and affection.
He parked the car, opening his door and slipped out, pointing towards the elevator. “I’m in the pent house.”
