Morgan was far from oblivious to Alexander's scrutiny. That much was probably obvious when he bent down, phone tucked between his shoulder and ear as he slowly ran a slender hand from his ankle up the back of his calf to make sure the seam of his stocking was straight on first one long leg and then the other. With as much attention as his boss seemed to pay to them, it just wouldn't do to appear unkempt.
Part of him thought that it was a shame he had decided Moretti would make a better employer than a boyfriend, however the decision to end their dalliance had been of benefit to them both when he came to work for him, but damn if Morgan still didn't want to squirm when his new boss kept looking at him like that.
Scribbling down the latest message from the editor of The Chronicle, he glanced up as he hung the phone back on its receiver, meeting Alexander's gaze as he uncrossed his legs and stood. Smoothing down the short dress he was wearing, he took the messages with him as he prowled into his office, one brow arching at the mess on his desk. He straightened the papers just so he wouldn't crumple them as he leaned against the edge of the desk, which was perhaps terribly inappropriate but also something Morgan knew he could get away with. "You have messages, I thought you would like them," which was true, but also just an excuse to come in here, knowing Alexander wasn't particularly busy despite the work on his desk.
