He had his mobile on him, it wasn't much but he could take a few pictures and then ring work, give whoever was there the story over the phone. Aiden was already dialling the number when he heard Alexander shouting for him but he ignored him. For the moment at least there was something more important than his date.
"Hi...Who is...Great, great...listen take this down, it's Aiden Adams and I'm on Richmond Road - there's just been an explosion. Fire everywhere. I have some snaps on my phone but you need to get a photographer here right away."
There was a snap behind him, the sound of something supportive inside the building giving way and Aiden turned round in time to see what was left of a wall come hurtling towards him at such a speed that he had no time to even think of moving.
