Shoving the cogs, sprockets, springs and assorted other miscellaneous parts back into his pocket, he took hold of his coffee cup with a grateful smile and stepped back away from the counter, and into the young Asian in-line behind him. He didn't mean to, of course, and he had been far too absorbed in thoughts of his work to really be paying attention to what was around him.
