There were lots of things that she knew, of course. How to make an elephant disappear using mirrors and diversion, the real trick to never-ending scarves, how to arrange the furniture in a room to promote good luck and a happy household, how to say the alphabet backward. And while she usually would have started cheerfully rattling these things off until someone stopped her, she got the impression that her boundless energy was going to have to be reigned in just a little bit - lest her teacher send her away for being too teenage.
