Dustin wasn't overly tall himself, though at 5'9 he had more than a few inches on Shi. Which might have endeared the other man to Dustin a little. Dustin liked feeling tall, since it didn't happen often.
He didn't hear the other man approaching at first, but when Shi stepped closer, Dustin opened his eyes, seeing the man standing there. He didn't work there, obviously - since Antonio's had a pretty strict rule about no tattoos showing or weird piercings - and customers usually came around the front, so Dustin figured the guy was just passing by, and didn't bother to get up or look like he was just about to go to work, the way he would have if it was one of his bosses.
He did sort of stare for a moment though. Dustin had been in the city for a year, but he was still a small town boy at heart, sometimes. Or middle-sized-town, anyway. Tiny Asian men with wildly dyed hair and piercings weren't exactly normal for him, so he sort of gaped for a minute before he caught himself and looked away, offering a quick, noncommittal. "Hey."
